AOE-II Monk macros (cheats) are becoming increasingly popular

Hi all, i am Cyan_Alvein, the cheater, let me just clarify something.

As you can see i used that tool on twitch, because from my ponit of view it isn't a cheat at all.
and more importantly, i rarely do monks, but something it is a MUST because everyone like spamming paladin or elephants.
Just let me ask you one question, why do you think paladins and elephants are so OP in late game, obviously because you don't allow players to fully use their weakness (monks) against them.

No one in voobly can say that i smush, because i just never do it, even in arena, and i rape even 2000+ in arena (Edie, Hayti, VM, all lost to me and never saw me doing monks).

If you think you can beat me with that tools, just invite me for 1vs1, you get teuton and i am viks and you will still badly lose.

And one other thing, i also use that macro with ram filled with infantry (like that all my rams can go full speed, you can call it RAM MACRO), because YES, and i am sure no one amount you know, (RAM filled with infantry KILL SO + BBT, here are some proofs http://www.voobly.com/match/view/16597380).

I don't know if you will also consider it like a cheat, but for me i consider it like a missing pluging in aoe, just like MQ with was just recently added.

In stronghold crusader (some other strategy game), by double clicking somewhere in the map, it make all unit move at their fast speed just like my RAM macro and it isn't cheating.

And finally, i have always played for fun, and fair, and i am pretty sure not even one player will complain about me using it. even for that game which was streamed, i was even losing by the way, my teamate just carry me :D .

As far as i remember, MBL argument was that that script wasn't in the game, then all player using teamspeak or multi-monitor or MQ should be also banned because they aren't in the game, voobly just decide from it own that they are legal. And please stop thinking that macro is that OP. you can't either beat me or reach 1800+ with it without having real 1800+ skill.
And i am not even a monk user, i mostly do trush all games and i beat everyone with it without any macro, that is just for telling you my rating won't be affected without it.

This is nonsence, have you ever watched a single game of arena players using this macro with a monk civ? There are some, those players reached 18+ with 15+/16+ skill.
Iam fine to play you viks vs teutons any time you wish, Iam online on Voobly very often. In case I win you'll start to behave like 18yo at least, wont use this macro anymore and wont say you raping 2k+ Arena players, deal?

Multimonitor and Teamspeak doesnt change anything on the mechanics of the game. MQ can be activated in the lobby and is in that case usable for both players. but both players have to agree on that before the game starts.

what the Monk Macro is actually doing is "balancing the monks" cause you think they are too weak and also giving you an advantage over your opponent which is pretty unfair and i'd consider that as cheating.

If tomorrow Voobly makes monk macro an option in the game room that can be activated by anyone then yes, it won't be considered cheating. In the meantime, using it makes you a cheater. You're not Voobly, you don't get to decide what is allowed or not, you are using their platform, so you either abide by the rules or you face the consequences. It's like if you were using MQ while everyone else is stuck with SQ, you gain an unfair advantage over others, and that's cheating. If everyone is allowed to use it, as with MQ, there's no problem since everyone is on the same level. Last I checked monk macro wasn't an option anywhere, nor should it be.

It's clearly an advantage versus your opponent and thus breaching the (unspoken) rules in fair play, it doesn't matter if the game is played on voobly or some other platform. But apparently you don't understand. AoC doesn't deserve People like you.

I know this cyan guy... he is a okish player but no more than 1750 odd.. no freaking way he rapes edie/vm etc in arena.. what a joke.. the macro thing explains a lot of things.. and he is lying out of his skin.. he uses monks almost every game i have played him in BF.. his meta almost always is: fast walls>> feudal>>tower rush with archers and then monks eventually... if he is pocket he makes 300 fishing traps on a 2 fish lake almost always..

To be fair, I will say I rarely saw you full monk etc on people - but having redemption + block printing monks to deal with siege with this macro is just super unfair.

Dear cyan, I don't know whether you are completely ignorant or you just pretend to be. Whether you win or lose your game or if you use the script every game or just sometimes or against which players you use the script it is completely irrelevant. Masmorra already gave you a definition of cheating which is exactly what you are doing. Also comparing this script to wide resolutions or voice software is pathethic. Everyone with a bit of common sense can see the difference. You remind me of ertug who would come here and claim that maphack is just a tool which is useful and that he is smarter than anyone else because he is using it. If you still think you are right then I doubt there is anything to be done for you. And if you really need that complaint post on voobly forums I don't mind posting it straight away. For now I recommend all people to avoid playing with you since you are cheating and you even think that cheating is a right way to play.

you can do the same by keeping a button pressed and pressing delete very fast and often. Mbl got that button on his mouse making it that fast.

He has go-to-TC on his Mouse too

he had a vill inside the tc, if you select an idle vill thats inside a tc and press delete you will destroy the tc instead of the vill. same could happen with a castle or a tower. Thats why you should usually check if there are idle vills inside on of those buildings. In this case mbl didnt really care.

if you dont know these things you need more experience. Get experience first before taking a stance in the matter of using macros. It is quite common that new players like to compensate their lack of skills with some "helping hands"

Unfortunately, this is an industry-wide problem that affects aoc, HD, and even modern games like SC2 and PUBG. I don't feel this is a case of intentional negligence on the part of voobly, though those cases may have existed in the past. It's just very complex and detecting input tampering without a rootkit or false positives is extremely difficult. I can't speak for voobly, as I'm not staff, but after making some test macros over the past 2 days, I can see why they've responded (or not publicized/responded) to this issue in the way that they have over the years.

This is one of those cases where a quick fix for one form of the macro, which might satisfy those looking for direct and immediate action, would only lead to more complex evolutions of the macro without actually resolving the issue. It will likely need to be resolved with changes to core game behavior instead.

Everyone is working hard to research and come to an acceptable solution. I apologize if this issue has ruined any of your games, Carlini. I hope you understand and I'm sorry for the trouble.
