AOE-II Monk macros (cheats) are becoming increasingly popular

Hi all, i am Cyan_Alvein, the cheater, let me just clarify something.

As you can see i used that tool on twitch, because from my ponit of view it isn't a cheat at all.
and more importantly, i rarely do monks, but something it is a MUST because everyone like spamming paladin or elephants.
Just let me ask you one question, why do you think paladins and elephants are so OP in late game, obviously because you don't allow players to fully use their weakness (monks) against them.

No one in voobly can say that i smush, because i just never do it, even in arena, and i rape even 2000+ in arena (Edie, Hayti, VM, all lost to me and never saw me doing monks).

If you think you can beat me with that tools, just invite me for 1vs1, you get teuton and i am viks and you will still badly lose.

And one other thing, i also use that macro with ram filled with infantry (like that all my rams can go full speed, you can call it RAM MACRO), because YES, and i am sure no one amount you know, (RAM filled with infantry KILL SO + BBT, here are some proofs http://www.voobly.com/match/view/16597380).

I don't know if you will also consider it like a cheat, but for me i consider it like a missing pluging in aoe, just like MQ with was just recently added.

In stronghold crusader (some other strategy game), by double clicking somewhere in the map, it make all unit move at their fast speed just like my RAM macro and it isn't cheating.

And finally, i have always played for fun, and fair, and i am pretty sure not even one player will complain about me using it. even for that game which was streamed, i was even losing by the way, my teamate just carry me :D .

Simple logic! Any private software(macro,scripts) to take significant advantage than your opponents can be considered cheating as they do not even expect that you will be using or they dont know how to use it or they may not be even sure whether it is allowed to play. However it wont be considered as cheating anymore if it is publicly available as a mod. (eg, widescreen, pussywood) or public software (teamspeak, skype)
AOE players are an extremely tiny online gaming community and most of your opponents know you very well. If you feel like that you are not cheating, keep using it. You will soon get the drawback from this tiny community.

You are comparing the use of an external piece of software that only you have, to the use of in-game commands that are the same for everybody:

If you use a third-party software to give you an unfair advantage over an opponent who doesn't have that same program then that's the definition of cheating.
I kind of want to believe you did it in good faith as otherwise you wouldn't be streaming it, but there's absolutely no question that that's cheating.

I really want to make that deselection script legal.

I am going to tell at some moderator my though about it.

The only reason to ban a cheater must be a writing complain send by his opponents to a voobly moderator.
I can bet if we make a pool to my 10 most frequents opponents about if i should be banned or not, none will complain about it, or if so only 1 or 2 who are haters.

By making that deselection script legal, voobly will:
- Make the game more entertainment for everyone by allowing them to go monk at imperial age war vs paladin and elephant while managing their economy just the same as with any other army.
- Make the game more entertainment for everyone by allowing them to use ram filled with infantry and telling them to move at their full speed. i know no one know, but i swear, the invicible BBT + SO combo can be easy countered by a viking if he use ram filled with infantry and tell to those ram to go full speed with the deselection macro. And finally, i want to say that AOC is a game and it is mean have fun. No one will tell you it is fun to use monk without that deselection script, and no real player will say it isn't fun to play against someone who does. Even with that script i can't beat pro player with monks, i mostly beat them with trush. All my twitch video can prove it.

i never used this macro, but it sounds fun.. i think instead of monks i could use it so i could join michi, forest nothing, oasis and black forest games and micro siege onagers to kill all trees :lol:

(but, if somebody make this mod legal for voobky games, please make it an actual mod so everyone has it ingame and nit just one cheater, and we can tell if it has a weird mod like this or not)

Incase, if you dont understand what "selfishness" means:
"Selfishness is being concerned excessively or exclusively, for oneself or one's own advantage, pleasure, or welfare, regardless of others"

And if you really would care to make aoc more "fun" with the monk micro for everyone, then you would probabaly advertise and advocate the usage of macros BEFORE you use them and NOT AFTER you get exposed live on stream.

Ok cyan convinced me, there really are such stupid people. Wouldn't believe so. I guess he's right though, I can see the meta improved heavily if we allow this and force it with 1.6 UP. New meta on every map - FI, 3x monastery monks, send them to enemy base vs enemy's FI 3x monastery monks and then watch who has the better macro. G
