Ya optics definitely look bad on that. But optics are for celebrities on social media and normal people are people. They hang out with friends and good people don't care about the race, ethnicity, country of their friends.

for you it is "repeating himself" for other it is trademarkes and catchphrases that have origin in his stream - there is a story behind most of his things he is repeating. it is your personal preference to say its "hard to back up".
i follow esports a long time and can't barely remember any casters or person that is so hard committed to something. for me he is easly the best caster in aoe because he breath this game in every moment.
he reminds me of Knochen or Khaldor in his prime time (two legendary german casters - one started in cs and other in warcraft)

Aha - "for me" he is, doesn't count for others and my history is a argument for me because I saw so many come and go. Memb did always stay because he loves the game and I can honor that.
And thank you for your intrest of the weight from my opinion - always lovely to share such positives words with a human being.

T90 and Nili are 2k2-2k3s and that shows in their casting. Dave is super good at calling smart things (like just today T90 was casting the Kingstone-Ganji set with Miguel, it was arena and kingstone had 8 vils queued at 23 pop. T90 asked Miguel for a pro's opinion, if that was on purpose or just autopilot, and also said he asks this because Dave had mentioned this as a caster observation that pros do this on Arena to lower their score and make the opponent think they are trushing - like can you imagine how complex this is 11, I don't think Memb ever would even think like this, he would simply call it a mistake or something, while T90 addressed this with such a high IQ move)

I dont want to take any sides in this debate because i dont really care that much, but this not as complicated or high IQ as you make it out to be.
This happens all the time on Arena (or at least it used to, i dont watch as much as i used to) and it doesnt take any extrordinary game knowledge to recognize that.

Won't defend memb here but I don't follow dave or t90. Nili maybe once in a month. Do you follow memb? If not how can you tell? Because I heard this on memb stream already - so weak argument. Maybe you don't enjoy memb as a caster and picking useless points to push others and make look him weak. Maybe you should look forward and ignore him if you don't enjoy him? But picking and searching for every argument to have point why memb is that or that - I don't know sounds abit waste of a time.
And yeah dave,t90 and nili are great casters too - we are lucky to have so many good casters and active members of the community (Of course I don't want to forget people like Nova, Survivalist, Graftwang etc)

To be fair most of the casters' arena knowledge is so bad things like this get praised..

Why are we pretending Memb is personally and exclusively responsible for the admin loss? Would we expect any different in a tournament organized by, say, Nili? Is Jordan not even more culpable for sponsoring a tournament involving Vinchester on the basis of Vinchester’s exclusion from some tournaments?

These political arguments are clearly not being made in good faith.

Can your polite head please explain why classicpro and vinch are still in the same Salz Aoe Team??? with lots of other russian players? Havin your logic atm thats not a good look for classicpro right? or is it just hippocricy? why do you spread hate and divide people even more in this rough times?

So you basically doin the russian regime a favor and feed russian propaganda about the hateful west. You even make people experience it in first hand and not just from TV fake news. Than Imagine theres an amazing humble caster/family man who choses friends by character and not by race or by the people the person is governd with. Excuse my english. I dont know really why he still plays for them, if you do please share. I was mainly critizising Memb for his bad timing (which i explained before).

For your other question i have 0 against russians who are against the war. They dont even have to be protesting, just simply state that they dont like the war would be enough to be off my radar. Vinch made some sketchy comments about the war which made me have a negative attutide towards him from back then. The comment "the problem is that he is russian" was a response to LeoMonteros question to me in regards to my statement about the Vinch showmatch instead of classicpros tournament game. My statement about that wouldnt really have made much sense if it wasnt about vinch beeing russian.

Thank you for your polite answer. I see youre gettin things right and just want the war to stop. Sometimes things get really emotional. Well for classicpro and Salz. I just count 1+1 . They support him.
Life in russia is really dangerous for people who are against the war and you need to carefully use your words in public. Imagine GESTAPO like units who will send you to fkn gulag prison for holding an empty sheed of paper on the red place and sentencing you to pay a fine of several annual incomes kicking you out of your fake comfort zone . Imagine being a teacher deported to gulag a year ago just bc you said in class that kids are dying in Ukraine and other teachers ''snitched'' on you. Imagine gettin denied your meds and any 'defense' because youre a 'traitor'. Russian Regime use this as warnings back since Putin won his first election but things got worse. Since the beginning of the war 20000 arrests were made. There are people who are against this but the situation is scary and thats why we see typical human behavior in russia. A lot of people close their mouth, eyes ,and ears, a lot of people are depressed bc of the unability to change besides leaving the country(generation Internet), a lot of sheep people watch gov-TV ( mostly the old who say Internet is full of fake news) and believe everything, eating spoons of hate 24/7. Im sorry to the mods and all other members this might not be the place to discuss this/talk about this because we're here to share our thoughts about our lovely AOE game and have fun in the community but this crap just hits too hard. We need to unite. We need more love. We need peace.

If Vinch is still living in Russia (no idea if he is, I don't really follow him), he is financing this war with his income and sales taxes. So in the end with money from the AOE2-community. Does that make him a bad person? Of course not. Is there a good solution to this predicament? Probably neither.

Do you think it's easy for the average person to move to a new country? Do you realize that it requires you to obtain some form of long term/permanent visa to do so? Also, Russians aren't often even allowed to leave their country. And of course there is the issue of leaving behind your family, your friends etc.

Either way, the argument you bring could be used against yourself as well (or any of us). Germany is doing a lot of evil in this world in my opinion (but I will refrain from going into details). So is Mexico. Pretty much every country in the world is.

Of course you can. That's what I like so much about the AOE community. It's a way to escape all of the constant bickering and dividing that we are exposed to every time we turn on the TV or open a magazine. Let's not bring politics and meaningless fighting over opinions into this game.

I am mainly wondering how Russians are paid concerning this. Most forms of banktransfers have been blocked by the governments of the countries in which most organisors are based (Europe, Canada, USA, ...) How do Russians get paid their `win` money. And if they do get paid with alternative methods. Is this not really wrong of the organisor in question?

In a tournament like NAC the sponsors no longer do business in Russia as part of sanctions. In tournements like Nations cup i doubt that some sponsors would disagree with payments to Russian team with an illegal wire. I know it is the reason why i didn`t chip in the price pool ...

There are other ways to send money to Russia. Crypto for example. Why would that not be OK? What law is anyone breaking by paying someone in Bitcoin?
