Don't deny Memb's unselection with valid reasons. Language is an issue. Repeatedly saying the same words, constantly talking over co-casters, not being able to entertain new viewers from every part of the world (people who don't know aoe or haven't heard a cast before). All these are things Memb can work on. Every caster we see has done it.

1. T90 frequently watches other commentators from different sports to pick up entertainment formulas/phrases to say, the correct build up to hype, voice impersations, etc
2. Dave worked on being adaptable over the years by co-casting with multiple people, and can cast with virtually anyone, by far the best phrases, laughs, jokes, etc
3. Nili - (perhaps most similar to memb) I watch his earlier YT casts and he struggled with English too, but look at him now. How he has improved not only his vocabulary but also his grammar, observer skills (remember NAC2 when Nili first tried this) like Mapu and Vodka, transitions from one point to another.

(Nothing against Memb) - sorry definitely a lot against MEMB 11111 Instead of improving certain aspects of his casting, he cries. He can watch T90DaveNili to see how they transition from a joke to talking about strategy, how they talk about random things in dark age to entertain while also describe the map, res positions, civ matchup; how they build the hype for a stressful moment - not by screaming BABABOOM TITANIC but by describing what will happen if the boom happens, and what the player will need to do next, be careful for, win conditions, all in the heat of the moment while the players are fighting in different spots. Membstradamus always right 11111 when he says this he loses the entire opportunity to entertain - T90 would present that moment completely differently in a way he would not only sound like he is an expert caster, but also describe 90 other things happening at the same time.

Meanwhile Memb, stuck at 1600 elo for 10 years, rages in BF, blames his team all the time when he did the least work 11, cries daily when he loses to someone (and god forbid if he joined the chat to say thanks for game later in his chat, all the cultists will crucify him as a stream striper instantly 1111)

You mean he should learn from Nili and use tournaments that aren't his as a platform to push politics and his personal agendas onto viewers?

Nili should be free to invite whoever he wants here and shouldn't have to explain himself to anyone but a lot of these anti memb sentiments are argued in bad faith. Memb on his stream and Memb as a caster in a professional tournament are not the same thing. He clearly toned all of it down for RBW and was a lot more professional.

tbh i only made this account to speak what is in everyone's mind, but cannot say it out loud with their original accounts, due to being judged. And a fair bit of trolling here and there (i love watching memb tilt and flame 11, guy can't keep his cool)

come on, we all have tried to "explain" to memb many things, he's not one to listen openly (dont blame him, the guys a talker, he LOVES talking, some people are listeners, some are talkers)

since its been so many events now that we have noticed this "friction" between Memb and the other top 3 casters. Dave got along, because he is Dave. Tristan oh boy if only I can put it in words, how much friction there is between the two 11, and now Nili as well.

Since I do have a pseudo account, I can openly say, Memb doesn't gel with other casters, he always has to be the dominant one, and if you notice, neither of T90, Dave or Nili are such when casting together. That is why nowadays Memb cocasts with newer people like MoonFaller, Survivalist and even T-west. And in all of those, its always memb who is dominant, the other people have to adjust so much, instead of being the other way around (I noticed T90 once casted with Nova, an upcoming caster and I loved their cast - T90 gave Nova so many tips as well on screen so i can only imagine how much he helped back stage, I immediately added him and now I watch Nova over Memb casts. And mindwell both are spanish speakers, but you can clearly how one has improving while other is ___

You obviously have a personal problem with Memb (which is ok), but your insults towards somebody who didn't do you any harm (at least you didn't mention any) are disgraceful. Memb is polarizing person for sure, but that doesn't give you any right to act this way.

This could actually be good for Memb. A chance for him to get some rest and try to evolve a bit. I watched a lot of Memb this year and he organized three tournaments and streamed almost every day and it was obvious he was tired in the end of the year. Saying "unbelievable" in a high pitched voice all the time even when something unremarkable happens was a bit annoying. Agree with previous poster that t90, apart from all the questionable stuff he does, is constantly trying to evolve. Memb is stuck. His USP was charm, passion and at least from my perspective an narrative of being the underdog who cares more about the community than others. The last one was completely lost for me when a player in his tournament couldnt play because his city was being shelled with artillery or missiles and he dont even comment on it, just moved on.

Memb's english is good, he was invited as a caster to the biggest and most professional Aoe2 LAN events ever (RedBull V and RedBull legacy). Do you really think that would happen if his english was a problem?

He already said in his channel that Nili told him why he is not invited to NAC and that its for personal reasons and nothing professional.

Imo Memb is the best caster of Aoe2 (at least he is at the very top, most people would agree).

The fact that Dash (who not only is not an Aoe2 caster, but isn't even a caster at all, just a host in LoL) is invited instead of Memb is just a hit in the face of everyone who thinks that casters for major tournaments should be chosen on skill/experience and not on personal preference

Memb is one of the best AoE2 casters out there. And I really think he turns it up a notch in these "professional" co-cast gigs (RBW, etc.) and does a fantastic job no matter who he's paired with. I'd rather have his excitement and game knowledge over Dash, sure.

But I have to imagine... after the stink the First time he wasn't invited for NAC, when Nili was personally paying out of pocket to fly people over to his own apartment and pay for food and lodging, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to Choose him for future personal engagements, either (if I were Nili).

I don't feel like the people in this thread calling out Nili and bemoaning the fact that memb was left out are doing him any favors. It's just going to rekindle the same feelings that probably led to the decision in the first place.

(Also I'm probably completely off about any reasons. Maybe GL or sponsors or whoever wanted Dash and didn't have room for everybody and you can't argue against T90 and Dave)

There's nothing "professional" about screaming, talking over co-caster, not having the same sense of humor as co-caster, and saying the same broken grammar phrases like "Being said that"

He just doesn't sync when co-casting, never on the same page, always breaks the flow of the conversation, and then says "Anyways" to direct the topic towards the game - there's no natural fluidity in the transitions from a joke or "off-topic point", which when u compare it to the other 3 casters and even Ornlu in TGM, its there. Even sili Nili's HORRENDOUS jokes are still better for a new viewer to listen to, because it doesn't break the flow and they transition in a way the viewers can follow (yes his jokes can be triggering due to dry humor/political reasons, but it's less triggering than memb who can be IMPOSSIBLE to follow for new viewers)

There is a reason why memb has averaged ~1000 viewers for these many years - its the same group of people who stuck with him throughout. His channel is not really growing with the full potential that it can - unlike Dave for eg who went full time a year ago and has 1k-2k viewers.

Heavily disagree with the statement. Dash is 100% more "professional" than Memb, simply because of his career experience. Language barrier will 100% make the difference, because what Memb brings to the table (passion, excitement, knowledge) - is IRRELEVANT for a first time watcher who cannot tolerate the broken conversation. Dash with any of the other three casters would gel better, and even if he might sound "unknowledgable" compared to Memb, it wont make a difference because his interaction with the co-caster will be MUCH better simply due to them having a more natural conversation - and I bet Dash will be learning and becoming more knowledgable every game he casts, which he will incorporate in his casting repertoire and communicate to the viewers in a way Memb never can.

The opposite of this is actually why I have some good degree of respect for someone like Influenza for example. Even Skinny or Myth too. Unless someone is a known streamer that maybe should be careful, I feel alt accounting is taking the internet too seriously. I’d think most users don’t deeply care what another says about anything controversial.

Not that I'm defending Memb or anything, I stopped following him some time ago but Nili is the one who produced the worst casting of aoe2 history when during one of the NACs he went full cringe casting with Viper XD

He still does. MS "only" covers the prize pool. Part of the rest will be paid by sponsors/donations. But he he lost some money with every nac so far.

Some people here complaining about membs screams. i know that age comunity is old in comparision with another esport. but some of the most memorable esport casts, are because of the screams. in the most popular games, like LoL, DOTA2, or CSGO, casters screams a lot more times and a louder than memb. For example, go to youtube and write CEEEEEEEEEEBBBBB and you will understand what im talking about.
also it doesnt matter how you play to cast a game. there are multiple examples in every discipline, not only esports.
now, my personal opinion. first i think that nili invites this dash (really i dont know who he is), to try to bring more viewers to the scene. think this guy is popular and will bring some of his fans. second, there is some drama/fight/discusion between memb and nili, that is not from recent time, it comes from years ago, this is obviuos from my perspective. its weird because they seem a good couple when they cast together. i didnt go to any LAN so i cant watch them how they treat each other outside cameras. Third, and i say again, is my personal opinion, i love the energy and passion and screams that memb has. Maybe because im from Argentina, yes, the world champions, and we are more passionate. Im old, but i love the screams, the passion and everithing. in fact, i find T90 boring as hell. But i know he is a good caster. Dave is halfway from both. Nili is more boring than T90. but i know that without nili, AoE will not be as healthy as it is. From my perspective, he should concentrate in organizing the tournaments, that he is really good at it. looking for sponsors, producing, etc.
Also in another topic, the cast from memb and jordan in NAC2 if i dont remember (maybe NAC3?), was the first time that nili got 10k viewers on his chanel. Nili must be gratefull with memb like forever.

It's Nili's Apartment Cup, so it's him to decide who caster is to be invited.

But personally I would like to have seen Memb as a caster in the tournament. His style is a bit controversial, but he knows the players well. He has have good viewer numbers in his organized tournaments, which proves he is professional level caster.

Yeah, I see. I actually was wrong about you a year or two ago to an extent.

I know it’s just the internet, but surprised some people do alts because they’re afraid of being judged for saying something. Reminds me of a young guy that went to an Ivy League that was on a forum I frequented 10 years back. People found out, some surprised, most didn’t care when he went back to his main. I think most people aren’t making serious personal judgement calls about everything a person writes unless they’re writing in a way to be judged.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not a big fan of either solo Nili or solo Memb, prefer Dave the most (used to be T90 for long years before who's now my #2 followed by Viper as #3) but when it comes to co-casting, I think Memb Nili pair were doing amazing job whenever they casted together, even overshadowing the most well known T90-Dave combo, it was seriously impressive how well Memb and Nili cooperated despite so vastly different styles and not that much previous experience when working together. Memb Nili and Dave Memb are my favorite casting pairs based on tournaments where these pairs were a thing.
