its better having a current 2k in team than old legends.
Tyrant started out as a team of old legends and went onto dominate and win their first tournament (and every tournament since).
its better having a current 2k in team than old legends.
Teams can still compete for 2nd, and the prize pool is large enough to make it worth it.
capoch never quitted rts gaming, just changed game, he's probably more faster and quicker right now than most 2k AoC'ers, he just needs to gets his aoc memeory back of units and strategies and he can be 2k3+ easy.
This applies to other old experts too who didn't completely quitted gaming.
My guess would be MS? :twisted:Wow which company/companies sponsored this!! i need to buy their stuff now
Nice to see this taken into consideration for the (near) future! I know it would be much easier to stick to the game you already master that well, so I appreciate you showing some balls! 8-) This is a great move forward for our game and its future.Having it on AoFE would have been great imo. The best styles are kinda figured out, there's not much new you can bring to the table except different variations of builds that in the end most likely lead to the same army composition.
If it was announced in FE, it would be played for 3 months straight, thousands of games, and there would be enough information to take from in order to finalize a balance patch for the tournament itself, and an even better balance than Forgotten Empires already provides.
The problem would be that the whole AoFE team probably is busy with The Forgotten for HD now, and I doubt they would have time to update and make changes for the unofficial version for this tournament.
Edit: I don't think using the 50 000$ tournament for AoFE would be a good idea though. Maybe a smaller event further down the line.
Just because I want to see it doesn't mean it's being considered by those in charge of the tournaments thoughNice to see this taken into consideration for the (near) future! And it's gonna be played on AoF?!
Well, you seem to have a good relationship with these people, so I'm sure they'll take the opinion of world's best player into account.Just because I want to see it doesn't mean it's being considered by those in charge of the tournaments thoughNice to see this taken into consideration for the (near) future! Wow, that's a harsh reaction! When such emotions come into play, there's often some truth involved.Vague said:I take it that was a very, very poor attempt at a joke? I can't come to any other logical reason why you would click on the comment box and move your fingers in such a way that it could result in those two sentences appearing in front of you and you then still clicking the "Submit" button. My guess would be MS? :twisted:Wow which company/companies sponsored this!! i need to buy their stuff now

Duh! (Araguchi used his 'twisted' emoticons for a reason I'd say.)Even if Microsoft did feel compelled to sponsor a tournament for a game they released 15 years ago, what would they gain by remaining anonymous?
Anyways, in short: it's not Microsoft.
