Take a look on voobly numbers, how many players are into aoc, and how much are just there for aofe? I personally have no interest on aofe, tried it last year, seens like a new aoc for begginers, a game someone play a few maps, test some civs and says "ah nevermind... i'll play gta.." Aoc is here to stay. So get over it, isn't a 1v1 tourney being hosted for aofe? good.. go there and play it, call your friends to play it.. just don't start some bullshit about WiC level tourneys to be played on aofe -.- it's not gonna happen, and if does, i garantee much experts won't get interested in it (even with money involved), aoc money is just an extra motivation, everyone who do plays aoc for this long, does it because love the game itself.. not the money, if you want money get a job or go for starcraft/league of legendsAgain, I'm not forcing anyone and I'm happy to see the first AoFE tournament on Voobly being organized.
WiC probably won't be an AoFE tournament, and that's okay. It's all about considerations for the future and the continuity of the game. One day you'll see that.
And don't start about 90% not wanting this; it's just a few people screaming very loud because they're afraid to lose their rating of have to slightly adjust their game play. For me the future of the game is more important than the adaptivity of a few individuals.
This all said I think my point is made, so I'll leave it to that.
Happy gaming, whatever version you prefer to play!
