If you allow slinging then please create a map where one (or better 2) slingers start fully walled (+market and already in feudal age) and we just embrace the sling.

I think for sake of consistency it isnt the wisest to mix maps with different balance in one tournament map pool ( MSC maps with ships being nerfed in this case shouldnt be mixed with other (water) maps, but also maps need to be consistent with the policy of sling nerfs for each map used in the tournament)

disabling indian shorefish bonus won't solve all issues. there will still remain civs that are much more superior (e.g. chinese, japanese)

The game is pretty well balanced but the balance is mostly based on the regular maps we see played (namely arabia).
It can easily become more favorable towards certain civs.
The standard 2 boars, 8 sheep, 6 berries, 3-4 deer make it pretty fair.
but I can easily see things spiraling out of control with:
a) 20 sheep, no other food resources: britons op
b) berries near tc, multiple extra berriebushes scattered around the map (yes, thats land madness): franks op
c) don't start with TC and shorefish everywhere (bedouins fo you): chinese OP
d) shore fish everywhere: indians OP
e) start withmany farms but no other food resources: slavs OP
f) additional hunt: mongols OP.

having maps with such 'favorable' resource availability isn't necesarily a problem, however it often results in amplifying darkage bonuses of civs that already are dominant, which can lead to seeing the same civs and same strategies over and over on these maps; and if the tournament has many of these maps this problem gets even worse (especially when multiple maps with same issue)

With current technology (UP1.5) it is not possible to set mirrored position, which puts players of same civ opposite to another. However, it is possible to assign lands to players in order of color, or in order of playernumber (order in which you join gameroom).
This means that you can have a tournament where you decide what civs are going to be played (for example: briton(flnk), indian(pkt), mayans(flnk). and then you tell the players that p1 and p2 are britons, p3 and p4 are mayans, and p5 and p6 are indians. In the mapscript it is defined that p5 and p6 spawn as pockets and the other players as flanks, with p1 opposit to p2 etc. In order to make this work, instructions for the players must be clear and it is advised to turn OFF hidden civ, so in gameroom players can check if indeed they face the same civ.

Few more things about 3v3 map ideas:
I would be interested to see a 3v3 tournament with grouped teams: maps like team-acropolis, but different maps: team fortress, team arabia, team arena, team scandinavia. I'm not sure if its fun to watch or interesting to play; but it makesme curious...

I would love to see some good old archipelago, continental or coastal. Good old maps that we rarely see played at top level

I think it's is better for tournament, if it have some kind theme, which influences also to maps. Battle of Africa was good 3 v 3 tournament. It had also interesting maps. Couple new special maps for tournament would be cool.

Hybrid maps could be cool, where controlling water helps, but is not game deciding. 3 v 3 versions for HC2 Bay and Cup?

Slinging should at least be banned in feudal. It's boring for slinging player and somewhat boring for viewer. It's more exciting, when all players must play and not just boom and sling.

I understand some people like some people don't. In my case i sttoped watching some games in ECL just because of the sling. I'm not being rude, It was just because I lost the interested in the game because of the sling.
