TL;DR: How useful would it be if a civ mined gold faster than Turks, but only got like 80% of the gold from the mine? The civ would try to deplete all the gold on the map and force a trash war.
What if a civ had the opposite of the Mayan bonus? They would gather certain resources quicker but...
I've seen videos of people reaching Feudal as fast as 5 minutes by luring Boars ASAP, sometimes with Scouts. I've never seen competitive players do it, though, so I'm guessing not but is there any small, possible use for a "Fast Feudal"?
Do you Drush every time? Are the bonuses for hunting really that useless?
Do you Fast Castle?
Do you fight in the Feudal Age? If so, do you just do Archers or can you go with Man-At-Arms?
Do you do anything different besides XBows and Knights in Castle?
What kind of advantages might this give to a Korean player? Could it possibly be good enough to make them worth using on open maps?
What if the Koreans team bonus (+1 range to Mangonel line) became a regular bonus, and the team bonus instead gave Villagers +2 Line of Sight, and then all Korean...
tl;dr: What if Turks could gather gold +33% faster starting in Dark Age but have no Gold Mining or Gold Shaft Mining to balance it out. This would give them an improved Drush and Archers in Feudal. OP or not?
The goal is to make Turks better early game so that they can survive late game. The...
TL;DR: Let's say that the Spearman line can defeat Eagles cost effectively. Would that make Eagles less crazy or useless? Is there a specific line where it might be a good idea? Any arguments that I haven't taken into account?
WARNING: LOOOOONG READ AHEAD
This idea can go very bad. Halbs...
tl;dr: Elite Mangudai are borderline OP, so imagine if they had 70 HP they can be killed by Siege Onagers. Good or bad?
Let's pretend that both Mangudai and Elite Mangudai have base 50 HP, so 70 with Bloodlines researched.
Siege Onagers will now OHKO them, Paladins will kill them in 5 hits...
tl;dr: What if Goths had Militia that costs 39f and 13g in the Dark Age? OP? Not OP? What's your opinion?
I've been thinking about the Goth's "eco bonus," which gives them +5 Atk vs Wild Boars (as well as the +15 meat carrying bonus) and how useless it seemed.
Then it hit me: maybe Ensemble...
tl;dr: If the bonus was more like "Monks +1 HP per 50 gold spent on Monastery techs," it might open up interesting strategies. Give opinions. OP or not OP?
Currently it's +5 HP per tech researched at the Monastery. That means Aztec Monks get the same HP for spending 1000g on Heresy as they get...
That would give them Siege Ram, Onager, Heavy Scorp, and Bombard Cannon.
The Teutons, Saracens, Celts, and Mongols all miss only one Siege tech.
The only civ that gets that combo is the Persians, who miss Siege Engineers.
Now historically, the Vikings didn't really use Siege weapons. So it...
That extra 1% can be very huge.
Champs would now have 85 HP.
Serks would now have 73 HP.
Champs now take 7 Paladin attacks to die.
Serks can now just barely regen their HP while facing a Paladin so that they also take 7 hits to die.
This is also a very slight boost to Vikings in trash wars...
Start in the Feudal Age.
BUT they have 0 of every resource.
Same number of Villagers, population room, one Scout Cavalry, Loom still has to be researched (and Wheelbarrow and Town Watch are available from the start).
Overpowered? Underpowered? Is there a way to make it fairly balanced?
If...
Let's say there was a civ that had every tech available but either no bonuses or a few weak bonuses.
Would that civ be OP or UP?
If they would be UP, what would you add (Unique Units, Unique Techs, bonuses) to make them stronger?
If they're OP, what is the fewest amount of techs could you...
I want to make a couple of campaigns and this one would specifically be for Forgotten Empires.
I want some dudes on a team to create a 6-scenario campaign about the Incas. I'd appreciate any sort of collaboration.
I have never uploaded a scenario here so here's an example of my work to prove...
What does everybody think of giving the Koreans a cool economic bonus like how the Franks received faster Berry gathering?
I had an idea involving Markets. How editable is the Market data?
Like let's say that the Koreans had a 2.5% sale and buy rate on Stone, and only Stone. Or mayyyyybe 2.5%...
Let's say that...the Celts's Castle Age UT is renamed "Tower House," and would allow their Castle units to be created at Towers.
Woad Raiders, Petards, Trebs, all created at the same pace as they are from a Castle. None of the techs, though.
What if only Woad Raiders could be made at Towers...
Maya Castle UT - Skirms do +5 vs buildings
Okay so the Mayans tend to have alot of gold, and their most powerful units, Eagles and Plumes, are already prime anti-archer units. The only time they'll use Skirms is in a trash war OR if somehow they've fallen so behind that the opponent is massing...
