TL;DR: How useful would it be if a civ mined gold faster than Turks, but only got like 80% of the gold from the mine? The civ would try to deplete all the gold on the map and force a trash war.
What if a civ had the opposite of the Mayan bonus? They would gather certain resources quicker but are very "wasteful," obtaining only 80% of the resource, unlike the Mayans who gather 120% of it.
Sheep, Boars - This would be a problem early game because you need a certain amount of Food to Age up but then again, maybe the civ could be one of the few who turns to Berries or Deer because they gather fast enough. Maybe to compensate, you'd use the scout Sheep for resources and the Scout Cavalry could be like the Mongols with +2 Line of Sight, or the civ would start with an extra Sheep like the Incas in The Forgotten.
Farms - They'd be sort of a baby Aztec except they wouldn't get as many resources from Farms. However, Farms are very efficient after a couple of upgrades so maybe this would be worth it for Farms?
Wood - There's almost always a ton of Wood on most maps so actually this bonus would not work as intended and not really have any drawbacks except having to make new Lumber Camps more often.
Gold, Stone - This is where it might get interesting. Maybe this civ could aim to deplete the map of gold to prevent the opponent from getting as much. This hypothetical civ would have to have a tamed tech tree without Paladins or Siege Onagers to prevent it from using all those toys, but then they'd have to have pretty good trash in order to fully utilize it. Stone is not really a huge deal maybe it would be vs civs with powerful UUs.
So what do you think about this?
