I'd love them to add more civs from the time of the Burgundians, such as the Vandals, the Suebians, the Marcomanians, the Scythians, the Sarmatians, the Sassanids...
mandatum?I assume the devs will simply recycle Franks unit voices for Burgundians, and recycle Byzantines/Italians unit voices for Sicilians, am I right?
I could list like ten civs in the game that either weren't empires, had "empires" lesser than european kingdoms or were completely irrelevant to history. We crossed the rubicon in The Forgotten; the second expansion completely contradicts your statement by being labelled "The African Kingdoms".Some civ suggestions in this thread are really nothing to do with game, game is called Empires for a reason
So Git Gud, then youll be the one making the decision. You know what's funny.
There have been many debates on this forum about the motives of MS and devs etc where people like @Black Adder and @Deathcounter were amongst the few who spoke about how MS is doing things 'purely' for profits. This community trolled, ridiculed such ideas.
Today, almost each and every comment here has the same language as theirs.

I dont know but feels like @RichNixon could be right. Its two civs they do not need new architecture style or voice recording. If thats true its very lazy decision.
PS. @Freezing_Point I just see your post now seems like so

Well get ready for the 500 different principalities of Germany. Recycle Teuton architecture and language you're good for a decade of DLC.
Now about the civs it makes perfect sense to make the civs OP in the beginning because you force people to play with them and test what they offer for later on do the nerf, this is like this in pretty much any game when they are realising something new and even Cysion mentioned that explaining the cumans after DE release.
Single Player campaign DLC is the easiest way imoInteresting business approach for microsoft. Hopefully this will allow for more ressource to be allocated to the aoe2 team so they can perfect the game in terms of performance/bugs as well. Not a big fan of the civs or the DLC itself, but the way I see it, it is an opportunity to secure the game's future development. Right now, there is little to no incentive for the aoe2 teams and their management to keep going: Once you as a customer buy the game, that's it.
I would rather like to see a different business approach however, to avoid future DLCs with new but lame, uninspiring civs. I'm not sure what the alternative is, because I want to avoid seeing a subscription model as much as possible...
I think they should strive to make aoe2 a real esport (thats where the money is also), and your suggestion is kinda going in the wrong direction.Milk the casuals which wont stay for long anyway
Unless they start handing out new profile icons for preordering people Kappafriendly reminder not to preorder

Multiplayer performance is some combination of Tantalus, Wicked Witch, and Relic. And someome please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe FE is the team responsible for designing the civs and there's another team responsible for handling multiplayer performance (Relic?).
