Oh certainly, I never claimed otherwise. Thats why it's a belief otherwise it would be a fact.1-I am inclined to say believing something doesnt require mathematical or logical explanation/proof.
As others have pointed out - often what Muslims do or think is no indication of what Islam as an ideology is.2-Every average muslim believes Islam is the best possible way to live the life.[I refrain myself from using word "perfect" ]
So tell me - what does the ideology actually claim on the matter of perfection.
Since the average muslim believes that Islam is the best possible way to live life, best is compared to other ideologies. Past, current or future too?
Is there wiggle room for improvement?
Are there believed to be any perceived flaws in the ideology (Note: Best can still have flaws)
If it's the best possible religion, but you do not use the word perfect, then will you concede that there may be some imperfections.
So the concept of Heaven or Hell is one of the major themes. Am I right in concluding that this life is then perceived to be simply a test for the larger afterlife?4-If you are a believer you also believe there is Jannah/Jahannam after life. You have to live as demanded, you have to choose to do right things according to the book/hadith with your free will. This is no ****, we are talking about a place that you are gonna live forever(I dont know forever is the right word, "where there is no time" might be better. Hence time is also a creation of Allah).
This will result in many followers basing their actions on how to get to the dear afterlife. And one wanting to get into Islamic heaven would be paying real close attention to the book/hadith.
What would be your take on the obvious discrepancies/contradictions producing such a text would take: If being good towards other people was an absolute central theme - What about the various moral exceptions to the rule which are allowed in defining good: Selective violence in selective cases is permitted - The Prophet himself waged many many wars. Since good is anyways subjective the definition of good change with time - erm basically there is no objective criteria for heaven - a central theme in Islam. They will simply ask whether you have fullfilled your duties and have been good towards other people
Claiming to be the best religion and respecting other religions at the same time, being good/no violence towards animals/ bakri id. etc. etc.
So if 99.99% Muslims are inadequate - would you say that Islam is a hard religion to follow. Not being pragmatic is a short step from that. Any examples of adequate Muslims out there - surely they must be role models in the Islamic culture.Probably larger than %99.99. %0.001 still should be enough though.
I may read it though if i find the idea well formed. A short abstract on the idea would be nice before I buy into it though.Well it is not free and you said you dont really have time. So forgive me being lazy about it to give brief introduction to you.
