Spoiler: No Dark Age Laming

"Laming" will be considered:

- stealing sheep;
- stealing boar;
- blocking the villager luring the boar;
- killing deers;
- walling off enemy resources;
- attacking with scout/eagle enemy villagers before minute 7.

On no-TC-start maps (Bedouins; Steppe), laming will only be considered as:

- villager wars before 4 minutes;
- No Barracks, no Palisade Wall and no more than one House may be built until the first TC is up.

Please keep in mind this is a Dark Age rule. As soon as one player hits Feudal Age, this rule no longer applies.

Ya interested in how the no lame rule came to live. I mean we have that in nc-zone to protect low rated players. Doesnt it take away the ability to punish someone for luring deer?
In general super hyped and interested in this. I expect Liereyy to win but for sure will be interesting.

What's the reasoning behind the no dark age laming rules?

You can blame me for that one!

When Robo showed interest in organizing this I asked him if he and the players would be ok with a no-laming rule. Nobody said "no". But nobody said "yes" either lol.

Anyway this is an old rule we had for the TEL#1-5 series we had a few years back that I thought worked pretty well.
Back then it felt like the community was split 50/50 on laming, but in recent years seems like laming has become more and more accepted (unfortunately for me who believe that dark age laming is an absolutely broken mechanic that should have no place in an RTS game).

Anyway, if players do decide to speak against it and Robo agrees, I'd have no problem in scrapping it all together, all up to them!

- killing sheep (rather than stealing)
- killing boar (rather than stealing)
- farm laming
I assume killing sheep/boar or stragglers is not allowed, but laming farms is?

And what about lame strategies such as:
- dark age tower rush (on fortress)
- (Persian) douche

Yes, I got that (each map only once). I meant you can have consecutive home maps for same player e.g in a 3-0/5-0 loss, winner won't have any home maps played.

He's generally not included in the discussion for contention for 2nd. It's recent that Tatoh and MBL have been mentioned as candidates after recent tournament performances.

Not saying he shouldn't be playing these, but I think this idea is in response to recent discussions about finding out who nr 2 is.

Do you have anything to back this up from any of the recent tournaments, showmatches etc?
It just feel like Liereyy has gone significantly down in the recent months, mostly due to his unability to keep actively playing(probably). This is not a game to decide who's the #2 in potential(where Liereyy could win, or even easily compete for #1) but current performance
