Two Pools 2 | Qualification Stage & AW's

Due to some very unfortunate and unavoidable events, the qualification stage will end a bit anti-climatically tomorrow, the 28th of March.

We have, unfortunately, been forced to give out a total of three admin wins in the decider matches, which leaves us with only one series for the last day.

While we're not going to go into details on why each match has reached this conclusion, it's important to mention that we have tried our absolute best to ensure that all of the games were played, so that you, the viewer, had something to look forward to. Things didn't go our way, but luckily for us, this was merely the qualification stage. In the future, extra precaution will be taken to ensure these things do not happen in any tournament.

We are confident that we are left with some of the most prominent teams - and despite the unfortunate events, the rest of the qualification stage has been an absolute blast. Going forward, things will only get more exciting as we are soon leaving the qualification stage and entering the main event. We would like to apologise to anyone looking forward to a full day of Two Pools 2 tomorrow, but we can promise you that things are about to get a lot better in the main event.

And let's not disregard our one and only matchup tomorrow that is Poland vs Brawlers - it is, in fact, the closest matchup in the decider matches being seed 8 vs seed 9. So while we may only have one series, I have a feeling it's going to be an amazing one starting 14.00 GMT as per usual.

So that the streams now start locally at 16:00 in EU for example instead of 15:00.

I saw project-belgium and vodka played in the 1vs1 A-tire match European Rumble yesterday，and project-belgium who is the capital of Legendary Pets has reached the semifinal of the European Rumble by winning classicpro and repard who are from salzZ which has already reached the group stage of two pools.Also,legendary pets won 3-0 in the first qualifying round.
However, we cant see project-belgium and legendary pets in the group stage of the two pools.Thats a great pity,cause i think project-belgium is agreat player and legendary pets can compete with vitnamB, maybe they can win if they have the chance.

Hey I can give you the reason why we gave out an AL since people will ask about it: As you know we had to play vietnam B. Games had to be played during the week. The problem is that AJ, Daniel and I both work during the day meaning the only time we could play was evening EU time which meant 2AM+ vietnam time or in the weekend with normal times. That's why we would have preffered if they had given us one full week to play since the weekend would have been much easier to set up our BO5. The problem still was that AJ was gone on saturday and I had euro rumble games followed by a showmatch against daniel.
Eventually we set a time of 17.30 GMT on saturday to play the series. During all the games Daniel had incredible lagg so during the 3rd game we decided to give them AW since there was no time to continue the series today (sunday).

It's a pity it had to go like this especially since I now read 2 other series didn't get played. For us it was a combination of a busy schedule and not getting the full weekend to play our matches. We tried hard to make it work but in the end it didn't turn out that way.

To conclude: I really enjoyed participating in the tournament and i'll def watch alot of the main event

Why are you assuming the Administration is the one at fault here and not the players?

Anyway I might be reading this wrong, but the feeling I get is that they are avoiding revealing the details to shield the players from potential criticism about their lack of commitment to the tournament or whatever.

because the players deserve some privacy. Does it matter for you as a viewer what exactly was the reason a team could not play? Maybe a player or a close relative of them was sick during the whole week, maybe he had to work during the weekend and couldnt play during the week due to different time zones, maybe their pc broke just before the scheduled time or maybe they were too lazy to schedule. The exact reason does not really matter for us, its sad that there are that many AWs but it can happen.

Since Project Belgium decided to share this story, it is worth discussing the official decision.
1. According to rulebook, if you can't find a suitable time, ask an admin to arrange an admin time.
2. Even more importantly, if you know you can't play a 2v2 during weekdays, why do you schedule a European Rumble set against a european player that most likely would have had time some time else (OGN is casting recs of ER, so that can't be a problem)
EDIT: I misread the post and thought ER was scheduled for 17:30.
3. Since no tournament is able to fully ensure that the games will be lag-free, and appearantly this team has issues with lag, we decided to suspend the members of this team from all current and future Lidakor hosted tournaments indefinitely, as they take away a spot in the qualifiers from teams that would have been more willing to play.
EDIT: After having a clear personal discussion with some involved, we decided not to pursue this part.

LidaKor may talk about it on stream, or I may elaborate at another time, but I don't want to promise anything. This site has a history of being significantly drama hungry, and in many cases lately, there have been direct attacks against people.
I don't want to be the reason people are being harassed in any way, and as scheduling was done behind closed doors, I will possibly leave it to the players themselves to elaborate if they feel like it.

Either way, I will definitely talk to other organisers to make sure that these things are avoided in future events.

In regards of the other two admin wins:
Players unable/unwilling to schedule or appear at scheduled times has become an increasing problem recently. The lack of professional behaviour hurts the esports value of AOE, as it is wasting sponsor money by cancelled/delayed matches. Ideally in the future there will be a co-opearing between tournament hosts to punish players that are problematic in scheduling/appearing on time in multiple tournaments.

1) Chrazini did arrange the admin time, and it was 17:30 gmt, Saturday. we started playing/drafting at that time.
2) I'm not too sure what you meant by that. I'm guessing that is directing towards Belgium, but we didnt schedule for 17:30 ourselves, and we played vs Vietnamese players.
3) I was not playing with just random lag spikes. I had Chinese 3rd game, and I queued 3 vills at pop 10, because my tc would be idle. I do not think that would be acceptable in a tournament of this caliber, where I am unable to even queue vills/ drop food off properly.
I took a picture of my internet speed while in game

and I have a decent enough PC to run DE. We were playing on westus as we were alternating servers from westus to westindia for fairness, which really means that I cannot do much to help with the situation.

I apologize again, I was extremely mad at the situation during the time as I was playing with huge lags during g2, and got worse in g3 with a supposedly better server for me. I just do not believe that I could've performed even remotely close to a 2k level with that lag, which would be disappointing for everyone involved.

I don't understand why you'd blame them for scheduling Saturday at 17.30. This seems like the only suitable time of the day for a game involving players from USA, Belgium/Netherland and Vietnam which spans 3 completely different timezones: this is pretty much the only time acceptable for the 3 timezones. If they can't play at this hour during the week because they work and you don't allow them to play on Sunday, Saturday 17.30 seems to be literally the only possible time. It's just extremely unfortunate that Daniel experienced huge lag at the only available time to play.
