wow I am so smart.I like the idea of breaking up or renaming overly inclusive civs like Italians or Indians but people that love playing those civs would probably hate it.
Wait till you realize about Armenian UU....From the looks of it, the DLC is utterly ridiculous.
And I have so far always been fine with DLCs from a balancing perspective.
Persians lose nothing, and get GIGA buffed. Free mahouts and stronger elephants for free. A better paladin (in 90% of cases) at a lower cost. And castles that deals easier with rams with imp UT. WHY!!
Fortified monastery looks broken too. Monastery drop, and villagers garrison with firing arrows AND make monks (with protection) !? 111
If @MAE_JO rants on this DLC for balance and broken stuff, I will be fully supportive 11.
Yeah, who thought a 8 dmg against everything archer was a good ideaWait till you realize about Armenian UU....
Turning a landlocked country into a naval power. Great idea.
Lol, but I think it's low attack means it gets hard countered by siege. It does 1 damage to scorpions and onagers.Wait till you realize about Armenian UU....
Nobody even mentioned infantry here??There's nothing more predictable than an infantry civ coming out and being immediately decried as OP. Well, there's also the part where it turns out they're actually not OP because even with ridiculous bonuses infantry just aren't that good.
Yeah. Looks like they are basing this Armenia on Lesser Armenia. Not Bagratid Armenia which is where modern day Armenia is too. A bit confusing because the coat of arms in the game is the Bagratid Armenia coat of arms.
Looking at the campaigns, I think it's not only based on its current/modern territory.

"Monk rush overpowered" 111Lol, but I think it's low attack means it gets hard countered by siege. It does 1 damage to scorpions and onagers.
It destroys Cavalry and even wins against standard counters like skirms,. So it's quite powerful, but still not broken IMO (at least for now).
The new paladin for Persians is complete bonkers. It beats standard paladin in 1v1, 8 pierce armour, bonus against archers, cheaper upgrade than Paladins. Fortified monastery is also nuts, given how monk rush are already overpowered.
Coming soon...11If @MAE_JO rants on this DLC for balance and broken stuff, I will be fully supportive 11.

Yeah, militia line is going to be garbage as usual. Unless you're post imp goths or malians, I can't see militia line being viable generally speaking. No, but Armenians are an infantry civ, and they are being called OP. For what it's worth I wasn't just commenting on what people are saying about them here.
Fortified Church is both a stone defence and a building. Villagers do +9 bonus damage against them, so that's one option. And Church needs murder holes to eliminate minimum range. Add some pikes or light cav to deal with any monks/siege/cav that pops out. Could work.Yeah, militia line is going to be garbage as usual. That isn't what makes them OP though. It's the monk building itself is that is OP. How do you deal with a monastery that can Garrison monks, villagers and fire arrows? Forward monastery drops are going to be a nightmare
And for what it's worth, I think Georgians are more broken, cause they have that building AND is a cav civ.
