New civs are something important and good, but we do not want to give ceveral civs the same bonuses, so the possibilité isn't infinite.
I think 17 gold for 100 food/wood is enough. DM is played on custom maps anyways, if the prices was a problem, they would simply just add extra gold piles to the map. Since gold units are incredible much stronger then trash, it is important to spend the limited gold on a map well. 35 gold for 100 food/wood will make it possible to generate tons of gold with a regular economy, and trash units will lose its role.

And I agree on the market gold thing. 35 gold sounds about right. It will keep 1v1s from degenerating into trash wars which is about as boring and tedious as it gets.
35 gold change would reward people for not planning ahead as far as tgs go. plus would it still begin at 30% fee for most civs starting at 70 exchange rate? it wouldnt put nearly as much emphasis on taking an early advantage. i understand that it isnt as fun to have trash war in imp for some people, but i liked the idea someone had of adding 2 relics per map better
im not a big fan of adding trash for those civs unless i can hear a compelling reason as to why. i understand it sucks to run out of gold, but thats a part of this game too. if you are a civ weak on trash, you better try your ass off to not let the game go that way, not all civ should be played the same way
