The difference between MQ and SQ is overrated.
Not wanting to play in a room with wrong queue setting... cmon.

Leftover APM 11Well tbh, I don't see "fast" players losing their advantage by enabling MQ. They can just spend their leftover APM in managing their economy, making their lumber camps and mining camps efficient, focus on fights better, etc.
If player A is faster than player B, he/she is going to have more APM left over than player B after MQ or SQ. And AoE2 is not a game where you can run out of things to spend your APM on!
All the logical arguments are falling on deaf ears so guess the populist view is what will count.
Could we at least add this as a field in Game Settings in Voobly and have it included it in Lobby as well in shape of a column.
This way at least someone doesn't have to wait in the room for 20 mins and then realize at game launch, its not how they want to play the game. Asking every time you join a room for whether its SQ or MQ is not practical as well.

They can regain some hp from leftovers
It's quite a step from the AoE system of producing units. It simplifies gameplay even further, and I would expect AoE4 to have something along these lines. That's a feature I expect for any modern RTS.To make this more interesting, what do the proponents of simplification think about something called Autoqueue - we have that in AoT, it's an in-game tool that when you turn it on, the selected unit will keep being produced if/when you have the resources for it.
Personally I like MQ but don't like this autoqueue. It's obviously an advantage to use it and I'd use it if it was available. It would feel a bit less fun though. I see the hypocrisy there and overall I'd say I would get used to it and be fine with it eventually. It is somewhat different though as I'm quite used to MQ coming from HD and nobody here is used to autoqueue I imagine. To make this more interesting, what do the proponents of simplification think about something called Autoqueue - we have that in AoT, it's an in-game tool that when you turn it on, the selected unit will keep being produced if/when you have the resources for it.
It's not our fault that you find arguments against your opinion "illogical".
And what populist view are you talking about 11 there are more people in favour of SQ than MQ.
It's not as big an issue to play with MQ, having MQ enabled doesn't stop you from using SQ setup. And before you play the "skill disadvantage" card, let me tell you that at your level, this hardly matters at all.
cmonBruh tryna have a serious and healthy discussion here. The last thing we need is pokemon plebs
Mate you are getting what you want so why force me to play with the same setup.
If I want to play in games where some players are not having unfair advantage what's wrong in that. All I asked is to have the host selection displayed in game room.

Being able to click buttons faster is not a way of decision making though. SQ benefits the ones who can click faster and get themselves a perfect hotkey setup.Where to put your attention and prioritize making army, microing or balancing eco is also a way of decision making.

Technically this isn't even a new thing for Escape tournaments since all Escape events were MQ because of HD, and I didn't see any complaint about MQ at the time.
The reason why it was MQ is irrelevant. I saw players complain about performance, lag or other HD related issues, but not once I saw a player complaining about the fact that games had to be MQ.Is it possible that the reason was lack of any alternative. Escape wanted to host events with new civs on HD
- UP 1.5 was not available thus no WK. No possibility to play on Voobly.
- HD had only MQ
Most of the people who think SQ is the right thing for AOC are not unreasonable, there are very clear reasons given.
Why would they complain when there was no option.
When the principle of queing units in buildings was new (you know, in the first RTS games you could only train one unit per building at a time) people were raging against this noobifying of the game, claiming that true skill only shows in manually keeping production buildigs busy.
Thinking about it, what about returning to that state? NQ (No Queue) for next patch?
If I play a lot of AoC on a day or weekend all that toggling between buildings haunts me at night and deprives me of my sleep LOLI actually like cycling through all buildings and producing units. i find it quite satisfying to have great eco and just spam clicking hotkeys and not hearing that 'you don't have enough resources' sound come up. you get some sort of physical sensation of how well you're doing.
F*** me, right?
How about we just allow people who want to play MQ to play MQ and people who want to play SQ to play SQ without trying to force the issue. Each tournament organizer can decide for him/herself if they want their tournament to be SQ or MQ.
Leave players to it and they will adopt the things they want to adopt and not adopt those they don't want to. As we've seen with UP and WK - great changes for the game (for the most part), now universally adopted in average and above level games.
Let's see what happens regarding SQ/MQ.
I remember playing MQ on 1.4 RC, so it must have been introduced with that, not 1.5.This is exactly what happens or like I said before, nothing has happened. No technical changes have recently been made (I think MQ came to voobly with UP 1.5, which was maybe 9 months ago) and nobody is proposing to make anything default or force smth. It’s just a tournament host that decided to use MQ.
Funnily enough, people didn’t even really discuss MQ in the tournament thread, only in this one where it is just about how to “make hosting a game with MQ easier”
I don’t get it.
