The MQ option was released for UP v1.1 on 2012/04/03 to resolve the following tracker item: 295: #UserPatch [Request] Allow players to distribute unit training over multiple selected buildings. It's ancient in internet time lol
TBF I agree that SQ is superior because it takes more skill to press the correct buttons faster. As such, we should remove automatic farm reseeds because it takes away the skill that one player who can remember to manually reseed has. We should also remove automatic villager gathering after completion of drop off building for the same reason. TBF we should switch back to AoE1: Rise of Rome where you could only queue one type of unit at a time because it rewarded players with faster APM.
On second thought let's remove queues in general, go back to aoe1 1997 style because it rewards players with more skill
Or, ya know, allow people who are good at micro or macro (AKA strategy) to be able to play a strategy game competitively without forcing them to learn a crap ton of button pressing (AKA repetitive annoying BS)
Macro in AOC mostly refers to larger scare operations and controls, units output/production capacity, expansions, multi bases management etc, and that includes go to hotkeys, cycling to buildings.
So what you're asking is a reduction of macro gameplay to focus more on micro.
