I agree with what people said here. If you want a summary in text, it would be good to have someone who writes well about the game in native English. @Rayne would be one who has written many well-formulated answers here.

Am I proofreading, editing, or creating a small report of the player? I don't mind helping with it somewhere. I wouldn't be able to make reports with all the players, especially ones I am not entirely familiar with.

With Riut, seeing as how there's something nice of him already, here's what I know. Not a short summary, I'd have to trim it.

If I am not mistaken, he first came into the scene around 2007 with the nick MewTwo. Everyone knew this player was talented, because he was unusually fast and had great micro then for someone of a 2k rating.

Then when the name Riut was born, it became famous quite fast. Was playing Chris quite regularly if I am not mistaken, and that's when he started hovering around 2300-2400.

I think it was when Riut was in the [Viper] clan by Alma Negra (someone can correct me on this if I am wrong), is when he got serious attention after winning some [Viper] clan tourney, consisting of Hun wars on Arabia ahead of Daut, Chris, and whoever else was in that clan (which was like every top player). Believe that tourney is what sealed Riut's name in the aoc books.

There is of course Tyrant which Riut joined in 2013 I believe? Everyone knows about that stuff, and probably more than I do as I wasn't around much then.

As for his style and map, believe Riut should be known most for his incredibly strong Arabia play, though he could play any map. He is one of a dying breed if I can use those words, as he liked full feudal wars with many scouts and archers, which a lot didn't do -- very well to add. And Riut was exceptional at it, a true feudal warlord. Build order for it was steel solid, combined with his famous scout control (has anyone forgotten when Dreams made 7 spears vs 3 scs and said its because those 3 scouts were Riut scouts?) Not only that, but he was the fastest player alive. Entertaining play as well, as he often played with virtually no walls when he did this style of play.

How's that look? Too long? Not my best, but its just writing randomly while thinking about old times. Can tweak it.

I could maybe do this with a few others that I know of. I have known Nicov, slam, Yo, Fire, and Hera (sorry if I have forgotten someone!) for a long time so might be able to write something (I am sure they're willing to help me too if I pm here/voobly). I am not sure I could pull off Chris for instance, but I know some stuff outside of the oldschool tourneys.

Hi, @pumukel! Great initiative!

I think you, and we as a forum, can make something to the whole Aoe2 history, not only starting from wcl7.

And I think we don't need to create the definitive edition of the Hall of Fame in the first attempt. The HoF around there is built by indications every year and not all indications of that year made to HoF.

There are for sure players who are legendary for everyone and maybe the first class of the AoE2' HoF could start with those names.

Small update about the work in progress:

I've decided to start with 20 players (chosen by me) and put a 24 cap on the Hall of Fame. Through a dedicated & moderated forum, the AoEZone community will be able to add, remove and exchange players. Some of my 20 chosen ones will be generally accepted, some will be controversial, especially compared to some who didn't enter. I hope there will be a passionate discussion about it.

A hidden forum is now in place. @Tarsiz joined to help with the routine work. @Rayne joined to write individual profile texts. PM me if you want to help as well.

make it 10 or 15 players max, having limited spots will make it easier to eliminate players once you add the undeniables Daut, Chris, Viper, Koven, Kkab...

You apparently didn't scroll down far enough because in the first message, Pumukel already addressed this:

The hall of fame will be more focused on the 'present' than old history. I take WCL7 (2011) as a starting point. Because the appearance of TyRanT and its sponsor surely was the beginning of a new era. And the data available gets better starting with 2011. Older legendary players can still have their place in a subsection, even if it's just a copypasta of the old hall of fame entries (or let's see what can happen in this area).

UPDATE #2

@Rayne is a champion, he is in contact with multiple top players and binges recorded games to gather information for the portraits. Some portraits are finished already.

@Tarsiz and I are compiling the entries.

@Influenza joined to add a Team/Clan Hall of Fame.

@dogao joined to help out Rayne.

In the most optimistic estimation, the HoF will be publicized in early January 2020.

UPDATE #3

I just stumbled over MbL's profile on Liquipedia and thought, damn, this is nice. And since it has some commonalities with the player profiles we're creating for the Hall of Fame - just with better functionality and design on Liquipedia - it made me thinking. Is this project even worthy anymore?

I think yes, it stil will add value to AoEZone and the AoE2 scene as a whole. It will be unique because it's an opinion piece, a curated, composed and compact portrayal of AoE2's most mentionable individuals of the 2010s, a piece of history. And with links to Liquipedia profiles, it will be even better.

So, how is this HoF thing going? I misjudged my ability to complete what I was aiming for in a couple of months while not being a student anymore. It can be tedious work. Even with great contributions from Rayne, Tarsiz and many more. But I think it's worth it to keep going. We're on it.
