Considering that we're comparing a barely over 1 month old AAA-Game to a 2 (22) year old game, the 20% higher player numbers, both in peak as well as current, is really a damning fact for AoE4. If the decline continues at a similar rate like this, the numbers will drop below AoE2 in 1-2 weeks.
Personally, it's no skin off my back weather some of the streamers switch over, especially since they're likely to return if the trend continues. But I highly doubt it'll be the end of the scene either way. Interest in AoE2 has not declined noticeably, even with some streaming numbers shifting towards the new game, and while we might have a bit fewer high end Tournaments in the foreseeable future, there will more than likely still be some high profile events. As long as these are successful, I feel like anyone who already rings AoE2s death knell is seriously jumping the gun.
