In less than two years the game will be run by AI scripters only. That's no secret.

Is it crazy that the auto-queue thread on the ageofempries site is actually really bad for my mental health at this point?
I literally, seriously, love this game more than my girlfriend and my own mother and up until now I've been really enjoying DE and am so excited for its future and the game still being played completively in another 20 years time ...
... so the fear of it all being completely ruined by auto-queue being implemented by people such as somebody who thinks that total anihiliation and supreme commander are better games than AoE2 and Starcraft ... it's actually starting to hurt my health and I may need to take a break from my favorite thing in the world just out of fear of "losing it" over my fear of losing it. I know that's kind of irrational but I don't want to invest so much energy into my favorite thing ever only to lose it. I'd rather lose a person in my life than that.
I get the feeling, but I'd rather try to enjoy it to the fullest while I still can then regret missing out on that last opportunity to enjoy it.
And here I thought I had gone a bit too far with my assumption upon hearing about auto scouting ....I'm just wondering what's next ...... auto vil production?
I was wondering what this thread was about before but didn't click it until now. Is this actually being seriously considered?
Wow, I try to be helpful but it *is* getting really despairing over there. Where are the people on that thread who are against the auto-queue? Almost everybody seems to be in favor it and that is damn scary. We need more AoEzoners over there! So much of the community here is against auto-queue so where are we all over there?
Exactly. This is a strategy game, execution doesn't matter. High level strategy stuff should win, like build orders and unit counters, not whoever clicks a button the fastest or more often.i asked for auto-vill-queue months ago. to stay ahead of my time i would like to suggest "auto-strategy" u click, when the game starts, on "drush + wall" and go in the kitchen and make a coffee. then u come back and applause urself how great that strategy was. makes its way easier for nubs. please consider , discuss and do not insult me! this is the internet and i cant be too dumb to have a voice!
But I'm not worried though, as opposed to auto-scouting that doesn't affect anything competitively (but is absolutely terrible for newer players, even if the devs think it helps them), auto-queue would actually massively change the game and I'm sure all the pros would voice their opinion against it.
Here you go, microtransactions!you have to pay a resource cost upfront to turn on auto queue
21 - Drush. Game time must be less than 3min.
23 - Eternal drush (any but saracens, requires normal drush to already be chosen -> taunt 21 first). Note that this strategy will fail badly if no enemy building is sighted.
lmaoEven build orders and unit counter choices are not really very high-level strategy choices. I want an "aoe clan manager" type game, where I choose which pro players I select in my team, and which home maps and civs they choose, and then the ai just simulates the actual games without any need for useless clicking by me.

Somebody made an excellent post on that thread quoting the former pro AoM and AoE3 player, Parfait, spelling out in great detail precisely why auto-queueing is so game-breakingly awful.
someone linked to a vid on the official forum that I think is very good
so here is the link to the channel: brownbear
This guy made several vids about the Age of Empires franchise (AoE list) and also a two part comparison between AoE and SC2 (in the SC2 list)
