Agreed..$20 shouldn't be a lot to ask. We are lucky to have such a good game for so little. When you consider how many hours of entertainment can be had with it, it will always prove to be well worth the cost
+1 One of the main intent of MS going on steam is to provide a sandbox environment where users can modify the games in its rightful boundaries.. I have 0 doubts in my mind that AOC HD II will be immensely popular. How do you compare a gaming client which has 400k users vs 1000 on voobly at best?I would also like to add that Steam is a great platform for multiplayer gaming and I assume that hundreds of thousands of copies of AoE HD will be sold; considering that at any time of day there are at least 4,000,000 steam users logged in. How exactly the multiplayer will work is yet to be seen... I have my doubts that it will be as refined as Voobly when it comes to ladders and statistics but I do believe that we shouldn't judge it until we can see how it works ourselves. It's very easy for developers to update their products after release using Steam which means that updates and fixes can be applied later on and if there really will be official support then I expect we will see this.
As for paying money well there is just no alternative or there will be
so 400k are going to play AoC HD and matchmaking?
I know what he meantso 400k are going to play AoC HD and matchmaking?
No, I don't think he meant that . But imagine how easy it'd be to get a game :D
$20 is not so small a sum for me, and i'd prefer having those hours of entertainment on voobly$20 shouldn't be a lot to ask. We are lucky to have such a good game for so little. When you consider how many hours of entertainment can be had with it, it will always prove to be well worth the cost

Voobly didn't keep aoc alive-the community did. There are and were many clients. If all of us didn't choose to play at Voobly,it would have struggled as well.

I assume you are the community? A senseless kid with can't effort $20? Tell me how you, being part of that 'community', has ever helped to keep this game alive, please.
And yeah, we have so many options like GR/Hamachi/Garena.. Now tell me about it and how good they are.
Jesus, u guys talking like $20 will make any difference in ur life. You can lunch that money.
Also, ZeroEmpires has no clue about clients, trying to compare 1000 voobly players 'at best', where all of them are up for multiplaer gaming and are competitive in their own rating, with that huge steam number of noobs playing campaign or playing for u know, unlock this, unlock that.....?
This makes me sick how disrespectiful some of you are with voobly, voobly has kept this game alive for so long and asking money for premium (widescreen and etc) is fair enough, or is anyone here thinking voobly can keep that server alive with donations only? lol....
"I want official support"... yeah sure 11, throwing away a new sea seems legit for a official support. I hope this HD version go to hell together with AoFE, peace.
+1
smth wrong with some guys here
Atleast in India 20$ (1000+ Rs) isnt the equivalent of lunch, here we can have very decent lunch for 1/20 th of that money.
