I found Robo's post over in the HD forums and followed it here and read the whole discussion and thought I might add my two cents. I'm one of those "casual" players, I suppose. I would much rather play a 5-player FFA on Nomad (not LN) than a 2v2 on Arabia. I don't have any need for stuff like seeing the lobby while currently in a match. Back before HD was released, I played a bit on Gameranger, because Voobly seemed too advanced and competitive. There are plenty of people who get the HD-Edition on Steam just to play with their friends rather than competitively. I think one of Cysion's earlier posts sums it up nicely.
I'm not going to deny that the HD-Edition has been bug-ridden from the onset - it has - but as long as it's still being actively worked on, I see no reason to give up hope. There are plenty of things that should be fixed, so some areas are prioritized while others are indefinitely ignored *cough* full-map screenshots *cough*, but if you aren't a competitive player the HD Edition is not all that bad really (the current patch, at least :P ).
