I believe there's an option in DE to always, always show the bars. This mod would be adapting that.
As for the only visual mod, it's not possible as you need to add the bar code to the game. You can change the visual look of the bars, though.
From the top of my head, you could have what we originally implemented in the Community Patch for the Lithuanian bonus. Back when I couldn't dynamically change the damage of knights, I had a technology in the monastery that used as a resource the number of relics, so that you had to collect them...
I don't think a grid or a trees mod can make the game crash. You should start with the mods that are purely visuals (like those two) and then check if mods that change sounds or add scenarios and maps make the game crash.
A while ago, a Voobly user asked if it was possible to have the health bars of units always visible. I did a bit of research and found this thread from several years ago where a user proposed a version of the visible HP using circles over the units. I found the implementation idea very clever...

However, linking it to the Town Center AND allowing the old behaviour at...
If only devs knew how much coding I have to do to replicate these bonuses in the Community Patch, they would leave the numbers alone. Thank God I saw this thread, I was about to start coding the Gurjara one at 50 %

Because of that, I'd like to ask anyone who has access to the new...
After a month of work on adapting the bonuses or reimplementing them in a different way, we are almost done with two of the new civilizations of Dynasties of India. Here are some screenshots of the new units and graphics.
