Xbox 2v2 Masters Cup 100$ (FIRST Controller team game tournament)

AYRE Esport have posted something special for the Xbox community for Age of Empires 2. This is the first ever Team game Xbox tournament! This is a controller only tournament with the best players on Xbox and hopefully a lot of new faces, its going to be a 2v2 tournament! The Xbox controller community is a lovely place and everyone has been dying for getting a team game tournament! After the 8# fight club tournament we have had from Yodesla we finally have a team game tournament.

When is this happening?
Sign ups are from 17th April - 22nd April and the brackets will be out on 23rd April. The matches will be on the 29th and 30th April and starting at 18GMT. All games except Semi-finals and Finals will be played on the 29th and on the 30th the Semi-finals and Finals will be played and starting same time at 18GMT
(NOTE: Both the semi finals will be starting same time for fairness sake! We will have an A and B stream for this and both streams will cover the finals!)

Streaming the tournament
The tournament is open to cast as long as you have the Logo on screen! - The logo can be found in the discord channel under #information in the " Xbox 2v2 Masters Cup " category in the pinned message!

How do you make sure players use a controller and not mouse/keyboard?

 

How do you make sure players use a controller and not mouse/keyboard?

That is a very good question!
Well there is no real reason for us to find out yet. It would be amazing if the devs can fix a icon next to there name like the xbox symbol but a controller! Buuuut right now, the only way to find out if someone is using a controller is by downloading there rec and look at there view lock so you see how they move the camera. The other ways to know if someone is using mouse and keyboard is by just the feel of the game. Like a xbox player can only do so many actions per second. We have had 8 tournaments so far in the 1v1 scene so we know what players is good and what Xbox players are capable of doing. If a player is suspected of using mouse and keyboard an admin of the tournament will do all the investigation that is possible to try and find out. And if a new player we never heard off beats a top xbox player then that already gives out a red flag

But we hope players respect the rules and that we can trust the players that join. We haven't had any issues with mouse and keyboard players in Yodesla 1v1 fight club tournaments. So we hope it will be fine here too!
