As far as I understand there are typically 2 ways to show your support financially. There are many other ways to show your support which are also valuable but I am just talking about financial support here.

I would like to hear which option streamer / viewers prefer and why with objective being what is most beneficial to the streamer. In my view it has to be donations because lets say, you donate 50$ which is 10 months subscription. In donation case streamer gets 50 while if you subscribe for 10 months then streamer gets only ~30. On the other hand every channel is more hyped about subscribers which I don't fully understand. What am I missing here?
- Donations: Streamers get all the money baring the processing fee which is not huge. At the time of checking out there is the option of taking care of processing fee as well thus making sure that streamers get the full donated amount.
- Subscribing: Monthly subscription fee of 5$. Twitch takes a cut (around 40% but varies to channels) and streamer gets the remaining.
