Hate to break it to someone's sore sensibilities, but there's a difference between beating someone with superior strategy and play vs. dropping 3-500 ELO to play lower ranked players. Keep the whining and pearl-clutching to reddit next to the suggestion(s) that elephants be 30f and 20g please.

It would be clearer for the non-native speakers if you said "beat people who cannot compete with you." I can't opine on the content other than to say you are correct about smurfing being lame (unless the smurf makes the game a positive learning experience rather than a selfish stomp, and even that has limits) and also that the idea of 30f and 20g elephants is very amusing.

Laming is not "superior strategy" it is gaining an unfair advantage by getting lucky and finding res that your opponent did not find yet because of RNG

Update on Canary, King of Smurfs:
he has a 2nd account for smurfing: https://aoenexus.com/profile/#2520503-3

Both accounts together have over 10k games, half of which he lost on purpose, the other half he beat players 300-400 elo below his level. What a pear shaped loser.

It’s not rng or luck based unless you’re finding sheep that are 30+ tiles from the TC directly towards you.
Otherwise it’s investment, decision making and reward.

What are you trying to argue about? It is based on luck even if it;s investment and decision.
Worst part with laming boars is that sometimes you follow dumb boar and try to block it and it doesn't stop to follow enemy scout. This thing is most annoying, as sometimes feels like you just can't do anything to prevent it. Similar thing with deers, sometimes they just run few tiles randomly and starts moving back right away without even standing idle. Such dumb behaviour of animals should be fixed, so both deers do not back without being idle even for 1 sec and boars become easier to stop from being stolen. Then we might start talking more about skill needed to lame, as now its mainly luck

How is this different than a Drush/m@a archer build finding forward vills due to RNG of spawned res?

RNG isn't the best argument someone could present against laming, since it is no more or less RNG than other facets of the game imo.

In each scenario a player risks time, map/scouting, health, potentially idle vil and/or idle military time to attempt to gain an advantage that may or may not be worth it -- potentially while sacrificing efficiency at home in the process.

No one forces a player to take a boar at vil 10 or 11, or to scout the back of your base first.

But there's another thread for this. This thread is more suited for asking why King Boo smurfs at 16-1700 frequently.

the skill needed is reading map scripts. The level of luck involved is pretty much non existent.
The mechanics needed to take a boar have a very low skill requirement.
Its not even funny how easy it is to lame every game and its boring.
I like the HC4 solution of moving boars behind the TC - now this makes it a much higher risk and more luck based, which also drastically decreases laming whilst not implementing artificial rules to stop it.\
the HC4 maps that were lame heavy were the fixed TC starts - eg cup, bay, slopes - and these were the extreme example of not being luck based at all. I believe Nili playing in VC4 made a statement to similar effect on Bay as he ran away chased by a boar, with the focus on how easy it was because he knew where the boar would be. Hardly luck now

Well I'm talking more of the opposite POV, to stop a boar steal is a lot of luck based thing, as sometimes boar drops aggro easier than other times, also it depends a lot on where your scout is etc. As in tournament, I suppose top players watch it more closely, although in lower elo ladder games people definetily do not watch boars closely as 98% of the games people do not steal them. So it is quite different situations when we are talking about top lvl tournaments and lower level gameplay where most people just want a standard even good value game and then some loser picks mayans and steals a boar which is pretty much instant gg, but ohh well, for some people puntos is more important than having a good even game

people who force pick mayans have a special place in hell reserved for them 11.
Essentially you just have to adapt and take forward boars early and then can use your scout to find sheep to not be lamed.
Its not too hard to prevent when you take the right steps. However stopping a lame once underway is really really hard, especially with birds, wolves and random neutral deer aiding the lamer.

Well I always take my front boar first and scouting my front first for sheeps too, although to totally prevent it, you need to play it like in socotra, like minute 2 taking a boar, which might be not too bad, although if both boars are front it still wont change that much.

Anyway, I'm clearly against laming, although I can understand some people enjoy watching it, especially on tournaments, but in my opinion it should still be changed somehow, that you could stop boar easier, like if you block boar for 2sec from moving or something that it would back, now often it's just easier to give a boar and go lure deers as in most cases especially if you are a bit slow to see that you know you probably won't stop it anyway. And going into fog of war to try still enemy boar often seems quite difficult, due his scout already coming towards base and til you reach his base his scout will be there, also if he sees you anywhere close he will go to lure his boar right away, as for defender you not reacting like that before first guy steals your boar, but the one who stole knows if you came right away to his base you are looking to steal back his boar. So all the odds are against the defending player which in my opinion is bad design. Also another reason why I like boars more instead rhinos, less value lost or gained due lame

This is generally unreliable and usually depends on the lamer making a mistake to work. At a somewhat decent level, people just don't lose their scouts to blocks with any frequency.

although its the best method, it is easier as the lamer than the blocker to play out this scenario

I like the saying - "the standard you walk past is the standard you accept" and even 5% smurf is a rubbish standard for a community to accept.

If it was boxing: 5% of junior amateurs will fight Mike Tyson.
If it was football: 5% Saturday casual league teams will play Man Utd.

Long before reaching 1% - those matches quickly fails any sanity test, the system appears incapable so people stop bothering.

It doesn't reflect poorly on the players - because they just turn up to play - rather it shows a very poorly administered system and doesn't do anything for the state of the game. I would argue that this contributes significantly to people calling the early gg with age.

The arguments for having multiple accounts have always been very weak given the ridiculous situations they cause.

Worst part is, they actually even "pushing" this behaviour with family account system and stuff, most of them not even paying extra to get a smurf account, which is ridiculous
