Why are most of the forum admins / discord admins / tourney admins / event hosts, whether or not going to be paid by MS, not jumping on the "**** MS" bandwagon?
Generally, to be a productive member of a community it requires critical thinking and the ability to appreciate the merits of opinions that do not align with their own.
I think it's actually been a bit more mixed than you imply. OGN and Nacho AoE have both been very critical of AoE4 and Microsoft tournament coordinating in public forums (Twitter etc). Memb has taken a more measured take but he is no Lober of AoE4 and was fairly critical of Nilis role as Tournament Coordinator/Tournament host/Streamer/Caster in his interview with Masmorra. Why are most of the forum admins / discord admins / tourney admins / event hosts, whether or not going to be paid by MS, not jumping on the "**** MS" bandwagon?
So Admins and Hosts are supposed to say "**** Microsoft" but can't call people stupid when they take a screenshot of the steam tracker player counts during server maintenance? And insult people.
Im not gonna put names here, but there are still plenty of community members who do (or did) admin works not on the "**** MS" side.I think it's actually been a bit more mixed than you imply. So I think you are just talking about Robo and Chrazini? I don't think I've ever seen Chrazini post anything that isn't Tournament admin related and Robo has only spoken up to deny blatantly incorrect facts or bad uses of statistics
I'm not saying there isn't. I'm saying the opinions and viewpoints are mixed, as most opinions and viewpoints in life are.Im not gonna put names here, but there are still plenty of community members who do (or did) admin works not on the "**** MS" side.
Most of the laymen either dont care or hate aoe4, while the (former) admins are more on the opposite. The tendency / correlation is what im interested in.I'm not saying there isn't. I'm saying the opinions and viewpoints are mixed, as most opinions and viewpoints in life are.
You seem to be asking why the viewpoint of individuals is not homogenous
I think you are literally just talking about Robo lmaoMost of the laymen either dont care or hate aoe4, while the (former) admins are more on the opposite. The tendency / correlation is what im interested in.
There are A LOT more.I think you are literally just talking about Robo lmao
1) I was referring to admins and former adminsHow many "former" admins are there?
Relax, nobody called you a productive member of the community.Ohh yeah critical thinking with logic, surely looking at it from this "objective" lense makes aoe4 great
I guess majority of player base does not poses this special ability that's why they dumped the game
He insulted someone I don't even remember, word or who, but I was involved in that discussion and pointed out that he was also a staff in Aoezone at that moment. Then he went AFK for a while but now he is back and playing with that border again, insulting people but trying to use more elegant words instead of direct attacks. He insulted @SouFire if I remember correctly and it wasn't just calling somebody stupid. @RogganWololo even had to delete the offensive post ; ]
This sums up how I feel about this site (saw this in the topic by felix too how people are tired), not to jump or create some hate bandwagon like you mention.Lately though, reading Aoezone is becoming harder than ever. All the fascination with aoe4.
And it's not even that aoe4 is discussed a lot, it's the way it's done. It's the constant feeding off negativity. Enjoying the failure of others instead of doing or appreciating your own thing. This sums up how I feel about this site (saw this in the topic by felix too how people are tired), not to jump or create some hate bandwagon like you mention.
Everytime I see the AoE2 vs AoE4 thread in like the top 3 on the “what’s new”, I literally groan in my soul (because it is probably not a positive post), let out an irl sigh, then just close this site and come back later (sometimes still revisit the thread too). I’ve never really done that either like ever, it’s just these days. Maybe it’s also the internet in general too and my age speaking more.
One difference I notice from my 20s and now 30s, is that my tolerance for “silly things” (to say it more politely) is considerably lower the older I get. In a way I sort of consider this site a home even though don’t play either of the games anymore (probably ever too), but still visit it for some reason. Suppose to just maintain a connection. It’s a strange thing really because it doesn’t do anything serious for me, but lately been wondering if it’s just time to completely move on. It’s really hard as of late like you say. All things come to an end at some point I suppose.
Er, sorry, that’s the end of my mini-rant that’s been on my mind a lot lately (or rant?). Otherwise, agree with the rest of your post, especially about Microsoft growing power, making money, so on.

God that's such an ignorant, uninformed take.He insulted someone I don't even remember, word or who, but I was involved in that discussion and pointed out that he was also a staff in Aoezone at that moment. Anyway back to topic, especially since last year I saw a lot of corruption, biased admin decisions by some respected members especially if one side of decision more famous or closer to them. So I don't really think it is game related, it is more money related and now money is on AOE4. Since money got bigger their bias and abuse of power became more obvious. Pie gets bigger and you expect people do better since it means more pieces for everyone, but some members just decided to make their own piece bigger.
There is a small circle of players who earned a chunk money as they deserve and to be honest usually players kept it quite cool, there are some arguments time to time but I didn't see players offending each other or viewers and usually they managed to find solutions by talking each other, I guess last one I see when Begum was victim and Hera supported him, I don't even remember what was the issue. But on the other hand there is another small circle around players, secondary people, hosts, admins, organizers, you name it, that's where i see weird decisions, favoritism. In the end players earn money by skill, others by connections and network.
Luckily I didn't earn $1 from this game, so I feel quite secure when I talk to this corrupt people and i don't back down when they start to attack with their fans, it is really funny to see them go crazy and became more aggressive, because their income is threatened.
What is it to do with AOE4 what I wrote, you just trying to take discussion there when you feel unsafe. Let's go back to dollars again. I especially wrote it is not about game it is about money and I already mentioned period before AOE4.The hate towards Age of Empires IV is quite ridiculous honestly. The AoEZone AoE 2 community feels like a child who just got a younger sibling and cannot handle the fact the baby requires more attention from the parents...
