No, it would not help at all. They just aren't worth their cost and compared to their cost they just can't kill ****.
If you really want to boost the keep, add a small bonus to typical raiding units (light cav and heavy cav line). Then it might actually be worth it to put a handful of keeps in your base post-imperial. Aside from that, increased range would help. But there is a reason towers where not widespread defence units in the medival world. Siege would devimate them. And I dont think keep should be able to stop a siege ram push...

Edit: Actually it would be pretty cool if castles consisted of walls, gates and towers and not a single building... I mean, in reality, castles were large and had buildings inside them. Most were outside but some inside. :P
i think its good that towers are quite useless in imp... bbt make games boring and long-winded already, and u guys wanna add 50 towers each side (for 0 pop) that kill rams and cavalry so we gonna have very entertaining BBT+KEEP+SO+TREB+CANON WARS :D

totally agree with that.
and imo we should more think about decreasing watch tower in feudal etc.
than about increasing keep in imp.
imo 8 range in feudal is too strong.
and we could also think about changing hp.
sure u can take down 1 unwalled tower with some vils or m@a easily.
but if they are walled or the enemy got 2 or 3 in range of each other, it gets kinda to do anything about it in feudal
