I just wondering about the possible strategies for non-RM games, like DM, KOTH, ...
Turbo RM:
I would assume Turbo RM is almost the same as RM. You can flush, FC+drush, ... but you get your resources much faster and thus you need less vills to go to the next age. You can build up an army much sooner. And a little mistake has much more influence on the outcome. I would say: Turbo RM is just RM, but with adjusted BOs.
Regicide:
The castle prevent you from early rushes. Your first move will be a FC. Maybe even a Fast IMP. Picking a strong late game civ seems the way to go. Is the general strategy for this map just FC and play after this like it is a RM game? The king is most llikely to die if the enemy is already defeated.
Death match:
Since it is about post-imp wars, i would assume picking a civ who excels in imp, is the way to go. But what is the gerenal strategy? Just building lot's of barracks / stables / ... and create lots of units? Control the gold spots with castles / TCs? Build up an economy? ...?
King of the Hill:
Mostly played as FFA, i think. So i would say to approach the game as FFA RM. Instead of defeating all enemies, you have to take control over the middle. Maybe a civ with strong towers is also a good pick for these kind of games? What is the best strategy? Picking the middle as 1st? 2nd? ...? Fight the person who controls the middle: Yes/no?
Wonder race:
Completely different game mode. No military buildings needed. Is a Fast IMP the way to go? Or is FC+boom better? Do you need to build more TCs? Or is one just fine? The goal is to get in IMP and have some kind of resources and build the wonder. A Fast IMP let you start to build the wonder earlier. But a FC+boom gives you more vills when reaching IMP and thus your wonder will be build sooner. And what civs are the best? Byz, because of the cheap ages? Spanish, because building faster (also wonder?)? Vikings (strong boom)? Other civ with lots of eco upgrades?
Defend the wonder:
I dont know the starting conditions, i have not tried it yet. Pretty difficult to have some kind of strategy. P1 starts with wonder, and has to defend the wonder for 250 years, against 7 players? Do P1 gets extra resources? What are the common starting conditions (starting in imp?)? Sieges seems important, so i bet celts would be a good civ?
