I won`t go into further debate, but I think that you`re wrong here, big time. If we consider the type and amount of resources needed to train 4 halberiders and 1 cataphract (and builld 4 barracks and 1 castle), then having 4 halbs to kill 1 cata is more than acceptable - and very, very cost effective.They do not resist halbs, they decimate them. 4-5 vs 1 is hardly an acceptable ratio.Halberdiers, if massed roughly 4-5 to 1, can take them on. Fewer if there are light cavalry along to absorb hits while the halberdiers strike...

Goths - Cheap! If need be, cavalry like hussar.
Japanese - Samurai and halbs!
Teutons - Teutonic Knights is great.
Note that those THREE civs all have Heavy Scorpions as well.
Aztecs - They're ****ed.
Mayans - They're assholes. (Longer Lasting Resources, Plumes). I'm forced to give this a maybe, but I've never recalled playing an actual late game Byz vs Mayans. You'd think with all the random civ DM i played it'd have happened.

Mayans - They're assholes. (Longer Lasting Resources, Plumes). I'm forced to give this a maybe, but I've never recalled playing an actual late game Byz vs Mayans. You'd think with all the random civ DM i played it'd have happened.
Goths, no matter how cheap, don't survive vs trample dmg, and Byz only need target rax+houses to win.Not that hard.
Japanese the same, maybe a bit better but w/o goth pop bonus and creation speed.
Teutons are overall powerful, imo, but having the elite teutonic turtles chase after cavalry, is annoying, to say the least. Would opt for palas, anyway.
Btw, hscorps vs an enemy with onnies/bbt/bc, aren't a realistic threat, especially when u expect them.
Mesoamericans(+Incas) are at a clear disadvantage (don't know if Incas' Kamayuk bonus+stats will make a difference), and under the evergoing assumption that players are equally skilled, will not survive long.
PS. Aztecs may last longer than Mayans, imo, 'cause they get hscorps.Still both lose.

is the Eagle scout going to be available at feudal or castle age? and will he get +3 AP (and +2 AP vs cav.) at castle age, like before?
if hes available at castle age, i have to insist that the heavy eagle upgrade is useless and a waste of time/resources. whats the sense of adding an upgrade at castle age for an unit that is available at castle age? there is not other unit that gets something like that in game. im sure everybody agrees that eagle warriors (before imperial) needs to be improved, but there is a much simpler solution: edit the +3 AP bonus from castle age to also increase +1 PA & +5 HP
If this is what heavy eagle is, then mesos are going to be dominated by knights even more, in tg.Heavy Eagle Upgrade (450 food, 300 gold), takes 30 secs to research
Elite Eagle Upgrade takes 50 secs to research (from 40 in AoC)
Heavy Eagle Warrior (+1 PA, +5HP, -3 secs creation time)
