Well, you're not supposed to counter water from land. Go water to counter water or kill those that have water on land. That the winner of water can destroy buildings within a limited distance from shore is not that much of an advantage, got to have some incentives for winning water in the first place.
Hello, RFR_Saint_Benny, you probably haven't played AOC for a long time and need to catch up with how better players play. I suggest you watch some 3v3, 4v4 water maps recorded games from this site, you will see how wrong you are with the galleons. Water warfare has problems, but not with cannons, and they said they will solve them.
Or tell me how you counter cannon galleons from land when you lost all sea/docks and this ships start to take down your buildings FAR from the coast, with masses of galleons guarding them. Or give me an link to a game that proves your point if you mean there is such game(s). As far as I see it the only unit that has range to reach them is trebs, and they are not made to counter boats that move.
