Akarnir said:You guys love to take your time. It's been at least 6 mounth sice you successfully implemented every unit and faction, all you have been doing since then is a few balance fixes.
So you are basically saying that it will have taken you 1 year (from april to december) to makes those few minor balance fixes?
It's not like you are writing over a new system for a new game, you are already working on the fairly balanced sytem that is age of empire 2.
Balance wise, it's looking good. But there's no way the game will be released without all those things you mentioned. I've always been aiming for a revival of the game. That means an appeal to all those players who haven't touched their games for years and all the people who still have their dusted box with AoC, stacked with memories. For a lot of occasional players, balance is just something that doesn't matter. When I played it as a kid, I just wanted the strongest units, I didn't know the foggiest about civs balance.I'd like to ask you whether the adjustment of balance has been done? When it is done, I think it is all right to release it even if without history introduction, campaigns and AIs. And later on, you can release patches to add these elements into the game.

I also notice this when I talk to friends, most of whom played AoC at some point in their life. There are a few memories that return for all of them: the voice acting of William Wallace, the "Horde of the Great Khan approaching", trying to beat 7 AIs, the awesomeness of massed Paladins and the invincibility of massed Longbowmen.
Different people, different tastes, but it's not because the part that appeals most to this community is more or less done, that we must already release it. That's one thing I learned from the release of Age of Empires Online. Parts of it were done, but it wasn't done as a whole, the product was unfinished, and it chased a lot of people away at their initial launch. When you release a game, you have 1 shot, and 1 shot only, and I'm not gonna waste it
And as Caelir pointed out: we're working on a lot of things behind the screens. All of which take (a lot of) time, as we all have full-time jobs or other occupations during the week.

Great idea, I've been thinking of it some time before. It may be named "Frankish Paladin" and the unit can be based on graphics of actual unit Frankish paladin (in scenario editor), or any other mounted hero with lance, you know what Im talking about, right?Cool . A very costly upgrade like ''Royal Paladin'' which would give some small armor or attack bonus to their paladin (or speed bonus).
