New civs released next year:
Saxons (Campaign = King Arthur, Replace Henry the Lion and Goths in Hastings, York)
Swiss (Campaign = William Tell)
Swedes (Campaigns = Gustav Adolf II and the 30 year war)
Bohemians (Campaign = Hussite Wars, play ofc a role in the 30 years war)
Habsburgians ( Campaign = Carl V and the Reformation, can play incremental part in the Burgundian Campaign, William Tell, Gustav Adolf, Bohemian)
Yes, that I mean totally serious, these are my predictions.
A big part of the community comes from burgundy? Come on, there's like 3 people there, and they are too busy making wine and mustard to play aoe2Well I guess a big part of the community comes from these places

I think it'll be 4 years before DE will be renamed AoE2: 2019 and AoE2: Remastered will be announced. Cysion already pulling out the "Its great there's demand for this!" when he really means "Sorry, we lied to mis-sell you the game" (jk he'd never apologise for anything), might as well go the full clown circle.
Reminds me of this

I think the Burgundians don't represent just today's French state of Burgundy.
I would say what's really meant with Burgundians is all of Lotharingia. The middle section of the Carolingian's divided empire. German/French border, West Germany including Cologne, Eastern France including Metz, Lyon, Arles, pretty much all of BeNeLux, as well as some of Northern Italy.
Franks are basically all of the Carolingian Empire atm, and Teutons are currently all of the HRE which is a bit wrong really as this was the actual state of the Teutonic order:
Adding more content, especially content as lazy as this, shows only that MS is willing to continue milking money from the playerbase. The playerbase can do something about this, and that starts with not buying the expansion. To do otherwise is to reward their bad behavior and encourage more of it in the future.
People seem to already forget that when DE came out it was only 20 € (15 € if you owned HD), that was really great deal for the content. And then they've supported it through the year with free updates and some extra free content like new game modes. If nothing else, I'm still buying this expansion as thank you for that.
A great deal and they supported it? Sorry but I will never understand this line of thinking.
We were sold a faulty game which was not fit for purpose or of merchantable quality... but you're grateful they've tried to fix it and will thank them with more money for a product which even still isn't fully up to scratch? Don't understand it.

I can respect that. And after mulling it over a bit, I think I will buy it as well as a way to support DE and continued development and content. I don't love the new civs but whatever, if we get more content hopefully I'll like those future civs/campaigns.
Vandals will be considered north african. After that: Finns, Aragonese, Dutch, Avars, Venetians, Serbians, Albanians, Bosnians, Danes, Poles, Ostrogoths, Vandals and Estonians
"Please add African, American and Asian civs" then the devs add civs that no one was asking for..
Please don't. You are not supporting anything other than the callously greedy monetization strategy of the incompetent MBA Microsoft has managing this franchise.
Bro mind your own business. Don't go around telling others what to do with their own money. Just like I don't tell you.
Burgundy is a prime example of how little modern nations actually represent their alleged historical basis. But was that really a thing? And for how long? Like was it just some political entity for some years and then it went away like so many things in Europe? Burgundians is a reference to a barbarian tribe in the 400's...there's literally no literature on Burgundians being whatever map you showed. And no connection between the Burgundian barbarian tribe from the 400's and that Central Francia thing. This is literally a made up civ.
LOLI think flemish would have beena better pick than burgundians. And any civ would have been better than sicilians
