War is Coming was worse imo, but after that almost all big tournaments had some nerfs to slinging and now we find out why we did it 11I don't think we have seen any tournament were sling wasn't a bigger trend round after round, so it's likely that we will see massive sling wars on the finals, not the best ending for a tourney IMO.

Sling just takes a lot of teamplay and coordination away imo.
Just two memorable scenes from recent game sets come to mind, Zuppi roaming 50+ blue paladins all over the map countering all and trying to protect trade from Viper.
Miguel seeming to be everywhere at once with Cav vs China and Dogao backing up with champs.
How is that not team play and coordination..?
I'm not blaming swissboyy for this, he did a great job so far and I think having a tournament with the "generic" WK balance was expected and probably also needed. Now we got reminded to how good (and OP) sling was we can hopefully see some changes to sling, either implemented by Cysion and co or by the use of a WK mod.I guess there's always room for improvement but swissboyy hit this one clear into the parking lot.
Not saying it doesn't require any teamplay and coordination at all, it just takes away some of it, if there were two people controlling army and eco at the same time doesn't that require more teamplay and coordination than one person only controlling eco and another one mainly focused on army?

To which I am asking you to clarify to help me understand, given the extra vulnerability of the slinger and the other 1-2 players increased communications and team play to protect that player....., how are we still not seeing the "best teams"....?
I personally really enjoyed how NaBs plyaed the NotSocotra game, even if their strategy was heavily relying on sling. They took full advantage of the power of three civs (...)
(...) what else could RiuT have done? If slinging was not an option at all, VNA would just have won the game right after that very early engagement. Sling enabled LoS to come back when they "should not have been able to", but also made the game more enjoyable since it lasted longer, featured comebacks, etc.
I'd like to point out that the game you're talking about with Zuppi sending blue paladins everywhere and trying to protect the trade from Viper's attacks actually did not feature sling so it does not contradict nimanoe's point.
wich is completely stupid example since it's almost none. We complain about the way the tourney is evolving and will evolve, simply because it's how the game works.Say, Spanish slinging gold and still able to upgrade units for defense (no gold expense in blacksmith), etc.
Average for the tournament: 62% successful (ratio of games where only one side was slinging and the slinging side won). Was not successful in round 2 (20% wins) but numbers were alarming for round 4: 10 out of 13 games with sling (from one sides or both) and 5 wins out of 6 games when only one team was slinging.I dont know how the stats are now but Its successful less than 50% of the time?
And you act as if our concern towards slinging is criticism directed towards the admin or the tournament itself, which it is not.
