All anti-cavalry units (mainly the spear line) will get their attack bonus vs. camels buffed, making it significantly harder to actually use camels with any civilization. One stat I looked at shows that Halberdiers, as of now, do +17 bonus damage to Camels but will do +26 bonus damage if the 5.7 beta change actually is carried forward into the game itself.
I feel as though this Camel nerf (more like neutering) was directed at Indians, but will have a widespread effect on all civs, especially civs like Saracens who already suffer limited pickrate. Civilizations that make good use of camels as a complimentary military-comp stuffer, such as Chinese and Mongols, may also be dialed down by removing Camels as a viable option for them.
What does everyone think about this? Does anyone know any further changes, such as how much bonus damage pikemen will do, or perhaps what other anti-cav units like Genoese Crossbowmen will do? Thanks.
