Massive thanks to Tails8521 for creating the converter.
Don't forget to enable the Wololo Kingdoms Mod i the game room settings.
If you are having trouble installing the patch here is a quick tutorial I made at 2am one night :D
Some known issues:
[linethru]If you are using the HD compatibility patch to play on voobly, then some civs will have ugly UI issues. example Tails is working on this.[/linethru] Fixed
Spectator Overlay and Dashboard WILL NOT work. They cannot display the new units/techs and may crash your aoc when these units/techs are created/researched.
[linethru]The rated ladders do not work at this time, the mod disables the rating for some reason, this is being worked on at the moment.[/linethru] Rated Ladders do work now with the 1.0 release.
Not a technical issue, but still an issue. There are little to no players at this stage, so if you want to play games with the patch you need to a) invite your friends, b) find new friends, c) [linethru]procreate new friends?[/linethru] schedule games on reddit/aoczone/voobly to try to get some tgs going. Whenever I'm online I will be in the AK lobby to help out anyone whos having issues installing the patch, or if someone wants a game and I'm free
Example of four 1v1s played using the new civs between myself and Clemensor, taken from his stream.
- First - Own a copy of HD and the forgotten AND African Kingdoms expansions.
- Second - Download This AK conversion patch.
- Third - Follow the installation instructions.
Download the latest release, extract it into your "Age2HD" folder, launch WololoKingdoms.exe, then copy the content of the "WololoKingdoms/out" folder to your AOE2 folder, (you should have Voobly Mods folder next to Taunt, Support, Sound etc. The folder structure should look like this: Voobly Mods/AOC/Data Mods/Wololo Kingdoms African Kingdoms) then you can use it as a mod in Voobly.
If you're using HD edition with the HD compatibility patch to run the game with Voobly, rename or remove the compatslp folder, otherwise you will have interface issues with most of the civs.
Voobly may throw this error message at you but it can safely be ignored.Because of the features missing from the original AOC engine, not everything from the expansions can be replicated, this includes :
As of now, the aim of this program is multiplayer random maps, converting campaigns etc. isn't planned. (you can play them on HD anyway, unless they manage to break the engine even more)
The feitoria and siege tower which can be built but don't work
The Unique technologies of the Berbers : which have been replaced by the following :
Kasbah must be researched by players on the team individually, it's price has been reduced (250->150 food and gold)
Maghrabi Camels gives their camels +1 melee armor and +5hp instead of the regen.
These changes might be rebalanced in the future
The default bots can't play the new civilizations, however, Bruteforce A.I has been updated to support this project.
There may be other things not working properly, I will add them to this list when they are reported - Fourth - Tell your friends so we actually have some people to play with in the African Kingdoms + Forgotten Lobby
- Fifth - Copy all of your custom maps from 'D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Random' to 'D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Voobly Mods\AOC\Data Mods\AK\Script.RM' and launch a game in single player and create a profile so your hotkeys get set.
