In some alternate universe I imagine this thread results in following shitty patch notes:
* Increased HC damage by 100%
* HC now have a 10% chance of suicide on attack due to jammed gun explosion
* BBT switch to melee damage
* BBT now have splash damage and friendly fire
* BBC have 100% bonus damage against siege.
* BBC now deal 5 trample damage to any units nearby (including friendly) on attack

I honestly wouldn't put it past devs to utilize these and reddit threads for balance ideas based on some of the more recent patches, which is probably why we see so many of them now.
Everyone wants their game-breaking unit change incorporated.
Also the "HiStOrICaLlY aCcUrAtE" crew need to take a seat imo. Be nice to see them out of " balance discussions" and instead direct the energy towards mods where the desire for OP and uncounterable civs can and should flourish.
Next we'll see threads asking for the bonus damage from halbs to not impact elephants as much because there's no way it's realistic.
Or instead of just being snarky, dismissive, and condescending, you could provide a meaningful contribution to the conversation.
I think the OP has a fair point that gunpowder units like HC, cannon galleon, and BBT are pretty rarely used in most games.

Skirmishers Deal -4 damage against HC (they get no bonus)
HC projectile speed increased by 10%
Cannon Galion can now attack ground and have same splash damage as BBC
Elite Cannon Galion have 1.5 times splash radius as BBC
Cannon Galion get +1 range from Siege Engineers
