To begin with, the ECL Seeding process will be:
Every player in the team will have the average rating taken from their current & highest achieved 1v1 & TG ratings.
Then the 4 players on each team with the highest average will be averaged out to form a team rating.
Every team will then be sorted based on these average ratings from 1-x. Some teams may receive a boost to their rating due to past tournament performance.
There has been some discussion about how the teams will be seeded and how teams who are fighting for spots 7/8 will be positioned. As most people will agree the top ~6 teams are significantly stronger than the others in the competition.
Now what I have seen discussed, and what I would like to discuss is giving more of the teams in the 7-14 range a chance to qualify. As this is a significant change, and requires completely reworking the bracket positions of those seeds to make it work I would like to get input from the community (and the affected teams) before making such a radical change.
Key points/changes:
Assuming the higher (better) seed wins, Matches 7 & 8 remain unchanged just in a different position which is irrelevant, as the winner of those games qualify. By that I mean Seed 8 & 9 would play regardless, and Seed 7 & 10 would also play.
The significant changes I am proposing is that Seeds 7-14 all fight for those 2 final positions & that seeds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 get 'easier' matches playing against a lower seed then they usually would.

Proposed modified bracket/seeding system.

If less than 32 teams sign up, then all the missing seeds will simply be replaced with a bye.
