ok after reading the forum for few months these lines sound similar:
Rules are rules
Daut is Daut
Admin is admin
Punishment is not mandatory to change a person or his action all the time, It is right at most times. But if we can see the person is responding correctly it can be relaxed. Sometimes a lighter action can spark things in the right way.
Having said that I understand it is a decision by a team and after a lot of thought into it with more info than us. I respect it. But still ...
But what if you relaxed the rules and give him a 2nd chance. And say he wins the CoT. Then you have a problem, because many people will say admins messed it up.
Indeed, then people will expect a second chance as long as they admit it, people are not rational, it is already proven by them breaking the rules in the first place.
It used to be like in tournaments people could get 3 penalty points or whatever, eventually I don't even think most read tournament rules carefully anymore, because its unlikely you are going to get caught for several violations of rules in half the matches you play. I think admins should keep on being really strict in this tournament, and maybe there will be less violations of rules in the next one, and players will make sure they read and understand the rules because they have a purpose.
