TheViper vs Liereyy

Can Liereyy dethrone Viper, or will the Snake still be on top of the world after this series? Liereyy should be warmed up nicely after his impressive 5-0 win vs MbL, while Viper is still the clear favorite. Who do you think will be the champion?

They went 1-1 on water maps (Lierry won Medi, Viper won Pond Arena) and Viper won 4-1 on land maps (Land Madness, Arabia, Gold Rush, Regicide Fortress vs Acropolis), so I don't think that'd have been correct.

I would love to see the match-ups with reverse civs to eliminate civ-wins..
For e.g. how much of the Lierry win with Berbers was down to civ-win, similarly how much of Mongol win for viper was due to just mongol fast-up.

Nice series, nothing surprising TBH. Viper raising the game when needed, Jordan playing good until he found a way to throw it, MBL very good but not good enough, Daut being Daut unpredictable.

Then another day would have been needed. Potentially playing 20 games in one day, if nothing is changed, is too much for one player.
And another day would cost more money for the hotel. So unless you change the format and/or send players who are eliminated home earlier, it's also a question of money.

Civ pick strategies are the whole reason behind drafting, there would be no point of equalizing by reversing picks...

I don't think Berbers vs Slavs is a civ win on acropolis. Hands down best economy vs a civ with weaker eco but access to cheap camels. I think slav should struggle vs late castle age/imperial age berbers because they don't have a great answer to camels + camel archers, but liereyy was way ahead before he got to that stage.

on pond arena, I feel like Ethiopians weren't the best pick for liereyy, he probably should have considered japanese instead.
I think it's awkward to put the +100F/+100G upon reaching feudal eco bonus to a good use, as you will have too much food regardless early feudal. Japanese would save 200W (2x lumber camp + mill and mining camp) and have tankier and better fish to survive early feudal fires from mongol player.
