So with the most recent patch, a big portion of my ranked 1v1s suddenly became unplayable due to heavy and inconsistent lag. Apparently there's been a hotfix to some things, but it didn't fix the lag issue for me.
I recall that 3 or 4 patches ago when there were some supposedly big changes to pathing, many players struggled with similar lag and made the games unplayable for them. I was also one of those players, thankfully after a couple days (weeks?) it was fixed.
However this time the majority of the players I asked do not have this problem. A few do, but I have no idea if the devs are even aware of this. Will there be a solution? I really hope so, because my motivation to do anything with this game has plummeted in last few days.
I just want the game to be playable, that is all. And I find it very unlikely that the problem is on my side, since I never had this problem on DE aside from that one patch where many other players also experienced a lot of lag. On previous versions of the game it was very much playable even against vietnamese or south american players (I'm from Europe).
I attached a short clip of one of my games from today. If at first glance it does not look as bad as I make it out to be, please remember that this is only dark age, and yes, I can manage eco in dark age for the most part, but microing mangonels, archers, or really anything later is close to impossible. I also mentioned that the lag is inconsistent, not like there is 0,5 or 1 second delay on my every input. Sometimes it's 0,5 second, sometimes 1, sometimes 30. The last one is not an exaggeration, I don't have a clip of that one though, but it was in the middle of a boar lure, resulting in losing my villager, 8 or so villagers under TC being idle, and the boar walking all the way back. Was a fun experience.
