Current Situation on Aoe4 and Aoe2

If 100+ people are trying to piss you off, you gotta rethink what is it that you are writing.

Thinking that they are "pissing me off" is a fallacy I think. I'm just not interested in what they write and don't want to passively read over their stuff. So I decided to block those people rigorously and to be honest Aoezone has become much more readable since then. Can definitely recommend. Sometimes I click on "Show ignored content". Without all those comments it's like a totally different place where the sun still shines.

I don‘t fully understand why people (especially the ones leaving the game) often call aoe4 „unfinished“ instead of just saying that it is a bad game with horrible mechanics, lousy balance and no future whatsoever.

calling it „unfinished“ implies that all its flaws will be resolved in the foreseeable, which is a naive and totally unrealistic view

One thing I can admit is that my feeling is that this thread in particular seems to attract some shady gestalts with absurd comments whose probably smallest problem in life is that AoE4 has been released.

People like you were posting them as some from of aoe4 hate. Just like mods on r/aoe2 removed aoe2 vs aoe4 comparisons as there was no good intentions to post them (like many posts here)

Have we come that far that posting facts can be declared as "hate" (and subsequently deleted) once you dont like these facts?

I am very glad that on Aoezone we still have free speech. This should be the case on every forum imo (sadly is isnt apparently)

Posting a statistical fact and comparison about two event is spreading hate. I wish I knew that when I was writing my phD. God dammit, life would be so easier.

If you your purpose is to spread your hate then yes. This thread has many people who hate aoe4 for being aoe4 and not aoe2, there is no way aoe4 can have anything good or have anyany willingly playing it in their mind. Just like these people were vocally trying claim streamers must being paid by MS to play "such bad game" .

Talking about bugs in the game should be completely fine in general and to exchange views on them.

It's essentially not the topics, it's the toxic people. But people emotionally invested into the game don't have it that easy to ignore the troublemakers. :/

Well I can say that you are hating AOE2 with same reasoning... but it is always AOE4 guys who are coming up with this "hate" word, trying to create victimization. We were talking about fact and numbers and how they spread hate. Now we switched to 37 page of discussion. I was more interested in other part. Unlucky.

back on my papas farm, I remember every morning we would wake up and go to the chicken hens. We would always find beautiful white eggs, but there was always one dirty brown egg.

Well I am glad that I used the almost free gamepass to play some AoE4, I just saved U$59. I think what keeps that game with some life is the effort of private organizations like EGCTV, and some RTS Celebrities streaming, but MS made a big mistake releasing the game in such a bad state. The expectations inside the AoE2 community were very high, it is a pity than MS didnt deliver.

Hera is so deep into aoe4 that he lost the touch with reality. He went down the rabbit hole, praised aoe4 too prematurely and concluded he achieved everything in aoe2 so he is done with it. He has no where to go back to.

TL; DR Number of multiplayers seem to be roughly equal for both games, while AoE 2 seems to have a larger base of single players
