Hmm, ~41k - or in other words ~86 % - is only from 4(!!!) streamers though. At least one of them have double the numbers than usual due to Tournament (Bonjwa) and the other one is Brawlhalla, kinda variety stream thing. So for sure your comparison is not at all based and much tendentious, but I guess that was your intent, so I'm trying more to debunk it here than to actually tell you this.

The good thing for AoE4 (and for the franchise) is that some larger variety streamers or SC2 streamers have been streaming Age4 on occasion. It's obviously great for Age 4 but also exposes a non-age audience to the franchise (win win)
The issue with the big streamers is that they usually move on to the next big game when it comes out

I just don't understand how you see the world, you seem to me to be kind of a robot and i'm telling this without a purpose to offend, it's just like you see everything according every word, like it's white or black, and it never is in actual world.

Like even stuff "Build a wonder and win a game and I will donate you 500$". It's a donation, but with expectation or in this case more of a payment for something. There are many people like MsHuggah who donated tons to community, I don't know exact his reasons, but I would suspect to promote a game. At least one of main reasons, there might be multiple.

But if streamer doing something specific and he earns more donations, so people kind of donating due getting more of it.

I mean in theory you are right about donation, legally, so you can't really complain at the legal level, any court would agree with you. But there is morale aspect and other stuff too.

P.S. here is kind of another situation which also matters to people(at least to some) which maybe shouldn't, but it always works that way. I doubt anyone is mad on Liereyy or MBL even if they play/start playing aoe4, because they are last ones to try it, they do try it because they often have no one of their level to play with.

There is certainly a gray area for most things. However, the very meanings of certain words are there for a reason though are they not? It’s the core. You alter the core of something, anything, it won’t be the same. It becomes something else. An issue with gray areas is that they are obviously undefined, usually stretched often to one’s own liking, and so imo it is best to not steer too far away.

For your example with a wonder, I suppose that is a “donation” but by definition, that’s more of a request, petition. Do this and I’ll give you this, a contingency. That completely changes the word donate into something else entirely. The donate button is just the medium being used here to get the streamer’s attention, but by no means was it really related to the very meaning of ‘donate’.

And if it does gain traction as you mentioned and more people do those things, then it is more business-like and most certainly as far from the word donate as it gets. I’d also add in that sense as well, I wouldn’t understand any sort of expectations regarding loyalty to a game as well (loyalty to fans I would get). Just looks more to me that things have been misinterpreted and expectations went too far.

Put adblock at your router level and never have to worry about ads on individual devices. Of course this only works for your home wifi/lan

You post these numbers as if they were caused popularity. However, they're entirely down to a discussion bias. I know it has a name but don't remember it off the top of my head.

I know you'd refuse this as a random rant, so let me give you an example:

It's the same thing as with Super Markets here only selling carrots of a certain size. If farmers grow them too big, the stores refuse to buy them because "they don't sell".

However, stores don't offer the bigger carrots, and anyone you ask says they'd gladly buy them anyways, some even preferring them. Stats still show smaller ones sell more because they're the only ones on offer, let alone the two being offered in similar amounts. What's more, carrots are most often sold pre-packaged here, and the ones that go into these bags are, obviously, the ones the stats say sell well, further inflating the number of smaller ones sold.

Basically, by offering 100 times more smaller carrots, stats for stores say that bigger ones sell significantly less. Weather it's 50 times less or 150 times less doesn't make sense to them, it confirms their bias, though 50 times fewer big carrots sold when they make up 1% of the offer, would actually mean they're twice as popular, which some studies suggest is actually the case.

Back to AoE, why did most people not watch AoE2 last night? Because nobody streams it. Why did they watch AoE4? Because everybody offers that streaming experience. The stream viewers confirm your bias, yet you completely disregard the discrepancy of what's actually being streamed. I watched an AoE2 stream as you posted this, it was a small channel that had 20 viewers. Good luck seeing that in your feed. The AoE4 streamers? They show up in mine despite me not being interested in that game.

When we compare numbers, we have to realize potential bias like this and account for it, else we end up with greatly misleading conclusions.

To be fair smaller carrots just taste better than the large ones so it kind of makes sense to not purchase them for the supermarkets.
