Pkz I would like to know if you still think the same after seeing Dreams coming out of nowhere after a year of mod inactivity banning Dan and Edie and disapearing right after he evacuated his anger and frustration ?
Is this the kind of mod you want for this community ?

So you are telling us mods have all rights, are never wrong, should never be questionned and are allowed not to respect the rules ?

There is a ban report section in the staff forums where DreaIVIs reported.

Dreams browsed the forums and banned danchsomething with good reason, just to have a follow up by a few people purposely tease an admin just to cause drama, they had it coming. The site would be better off if someone like Dreams was here more often, because the last 6-12 months have been awful in terms of trolling, insults and bull all over the site. I'm pretty sure it's pushing a lot of people away from the forums.

AFAIK there is Edie whose would have deserved a longer ban some times ago (multi-account) but from who I didn't read anything deserving a ban lately and Sieter wich deserved it.
To me, that's just my opinion of course, it looks like Dreams took a personnal revenge on Edie along with banning the few boring trolls that every one wanted to see banned.

While I agree this site would be much better off if someone with mod power and enough time and dedication to clean the house, I strongly disagree with this someone being Dreams.

I offered but honestly I'd ban everyone and that isn't the answer either.

In all honesty a few of them might not have overstepped with one flagrant instance, but it was clearly comin for a long time. I know there had been leniency in Edie's case before and it think after a while, a time out is in order for some guys. Some deserve permabans while others just need to be reminded that using this site is a privilege, not a right.

Even viper has been banned. Such a troll.

This has been going on for years now. Dreams is temperamental and consistently uses his mod powers on here as a method of getting retribution against people he dislikes or feels have wronged him on Voobly (and by wronged, I mean having the audacity to beat him). There's certain people that don't handle having even a tiny bit of power very well, and he's clearly one of them. There's a reason there's been a thousand incidents with the guy, but it seems those have been conveniently overlooked and/or ignored by other staff members. It's their prerogative, though, it is their site... so if you're here and actively engaged in this community you just have to resign yourself to it at this point. Your other option is to just not post and sit back and laugh at the insanity of it all. Gaming forums and people who play online games in general aren't exactly bastions of morality and righteousness. You're bound to encounter a lot of unsavory individuals if you play this game, so it kinda makes sense you'd find them on the forums in administrative positions as well.

We'll see, though, according to Viper I guess this forum is due for a big uptick in activity and geniality now that Dreams is back and keeping us all in line. Looking forward to it.

that's it right there. even though i browse the forums every day on a regular basis i don't feel like posting anymore since the only one's who are gonna reply are the ones that troll.

i rarely agreed with dreams' actions or viper's opinions but this case is different. i'd love a good troll but all we get here is a bunch of annoying morons and that makes aoczone a total **** hole.

That may be true to some extent but I feel that there still is a vast majority of people who are merely normal posters having fun on aoczone. Although I've been insulted a couple of times, they were all by the same guy, who is now banned.

Anyway, I think that mild trolling does generate a bit of fun from time to time, but excessive trolling should cause mods to take some sort of action.

+1.. Dreams is a bad internet moderator in many eyes but what matters is what owners of this site think. Live by the sword or die by it. I prefer silence.

It shouldn't be that hard to get moderators that are respected by the majority of the community, but for that to happen there would need to be clear rules on what is/isn't acceptable on the forums, then when someone is warned/banned/a post is deleted a reference to the rule that is breached and then there is no grounds for argument/mod hate.

Maybe dreams messed up in this situation (edie specifically), could be, but implying dreams has been abusing his powers for years is beyond ******ed. (looking at some voobly staff I might agree though )

To keep it short and simple, Dreams has done far more mod work than anyone else in AoC, of course he will be the guy who makes the "most mistakes"; he's done the most! Other mods on AoCgroup just had to deal with really blunt/ignorant trolls like Instaban, omar and prodigy who are easy to ban; we got to see a bit of prodigy last year on here :/

But now we have these "trolls" that are really more like people seeking attention/trying to make joke. Philippe/rmcoo etc who were getting annoying before, but really it's no harm done and they'll become less like that as time goes on :P

The worst one we have here is dan (he loves to hear that) but the good mods keep him fairly under control; usually banned within a hour to a days time
