Hi everyone,
I would like to inform the community, that I have come to a compromise with the Voobly administration.
First of all, I would like to apologize for my behavior of the past days and also in that stream during the tournament. It took me a while to understand, that the reason of my ban was not directly related to my utmost concern to stop racism and xenophobia in our beloved community. Furthermore, I would like to explain, why the Voobly administration was acting, as they were acting.
There is something that especially us casters keep forgetting about, in most of our streams. Voobly is designed for individuals who are 13 years or older, which means, that we must make sure, that our activities on their client are suitable for the younger audience as well. This means, that certain language and topics are not allowed in public areas on Voobly, and that we must move to private chats or private streams in such cases. Voobly has also explained to me, that my rants at racism for example, have huge potential to cause more harm than good on client and is therefore considered being "disruptive behavior" as it's inciting other players. It's not like they would support racism, Voobly simply does not want such activity on their client. From their point of view, they are right.
Voobly does have a reporting system in place, and what I didn't know, that they do not monitor their client. This means, if we do not complain to them and do not provide evidence such as screenshots and chat logs, they are not aware of any incidents and therefore cannot take any action. Also something that was explained to me, was the reason, why we are not being told, whether a player has been banned or not. Apparently the legal situation does not allow Voobly to discuss specific details of another player's account with other players from Voobly. Voobly staff on client, also does not enforce the Code of Conduct in game rooms or in game, they only monitor the game lobby. Even though the host of a game, can kick players that do not behave, Voobly wants us to report any abuse, using their reporting system.
Voobly has also agreed to lift my ban. Even though I am not allowed to stream in KOTD2, I am looking forward, streaming in the next tournament.
Sincerely,
Riverplation
