If you are gonna host larger prize pool tournaments and, specially, with MS involved you should make sure beforehand that players won't have to live such disgusting experiences like the one I had to deal with yesterday.

To make it clear, point 1 was a question - best if answered by Zak, therefore not a thing to agree/disagree . Unless you meant disagree as No.
For point 3 - any of the 12 players in this event (so they have the knowledge aswell) - not sure about Bact/tim because of their level of english, but still there are 10 players to pick from - 2 usually playing - so 8 players remaining. I didn't mean a great caster, I meant a player with understanding of the game and knowledge which majority of the casters lacks (don't take it in offensive way, please).
Just because you speak english doesnt mean you are great at casting. Most of the audience are 1600 HDs or have never seen an AOE event so i dont think it is necessary to have super top analysis unless that analysis is coming from nili which is also a great caster
Well the players have spoken. Will it be enough to dissuade escape gaming from continuing to milk a dead cow? Nope

Tatoh, Pikepie, RiuT are all great casters with good analytical insight. Probably many more 2k+ players can offer casting that is atleast on par, but imo better than some other casters we've seen in this event.
Losers Bracket Round 3 | TheViper (vs) Nicov Bo1
So we had a few options:
Losers Bracket Round 3 | TheViper (vs) Nicov Bo1
At 29:20 there is a crash to desktop in the game, which is unable to be saved and restored.
At this stage Nicov had a clear advantage, but TheViper was not defeated.
So we had a few options:
1) Replay the game. This means that Nicov's hard earned advantage that he gained during the game is wasted, and forces him to start from scratch. This unfairly disadvantages Nicov due to no fault of either player.
2) Give Nicov the win. Remembering this is a Bo1, this would eliminate TheViper, and as he was not finished, there is still an opportunity to come back. This unfairly disadvantages TheViper due to no fault of either player.
3) Turn the Bo1 into a Bo3 and give Nicov the win for g1. This still rewards Nicov's play in g1, but doesn't immediately eliminate TheViper. From here Nicov needs to win only 1 game compared with TheViper needing to win both of the next games to avoid elimination.
We are also frustrated with the situation, but we had to go with the "most fair" option in our opinion. There is no perfect way to resolve this situation, and Nicov is completely justified in being disappointed by the outcome. Unfortunately hosting games on HD is vulnerable to such problems, and we will need to be more explicit with our protocol on how to handle drops when they happen again, as whatever decision we make will end up disadvantaging someone.
also HD still has stability issues, which means I would not like to run a tournament for extremely large prizepools, as there are so many complications.

What would be your suggestion? It just breaks the player psychological after a decision like that, it's lame by viper accepting that a bug gives him any advantage. And also I am pretty sure that if it wasn't TheViper playing you would never take a decision like that.
Otherwise, the games I watched looked very enjoynable, hope I can take part of the next one! Keep on

Just give the win to Nicov! There would never been a better decision than this when u talk about winning the only match you can have in a BO1!
advantage? yes
advantage so far to the point there is no comeback possible whatsoever? no
There is no 100% right decision, I agree the bo3 was the most fair decision they could've taken at that point with giving nicov +1 win for the series.
