Heyo friends! I recently posted a thread on Reddit about trying to start a new tournament (link to the post, https://reddit.app.link/VNrnxTooj5) but I didn't get a lot of traction there.
In short, I'd like to put together a 3v3 tournament with a castle age cap, along with a few other rules. I'd put up $100 dollars for the prize pool which would go to the winning team. Not a lot, I know, but if this gets any community support id be happy to increase the pool.
These games would be played on Saturday, Sunday and potentially Monday if it works for the players. Although it would be cool to grab some pro player teams it seems rather unlikely considering the prize and time investment. Teams with an average rating of 2200-2400 DE would be a good start for a small event I think.
In any case, I'd love to hear your comments on this idea and if there is any interest out there for this type of thing. Thanks for your time!
As a quick edit I'll give you the rules as I have them so far. I'm still working on a map pool, but it would be best of threes. Before each match the team that won the initial coin toss, or the team that lost the previous game, would get to decide if they wanted to pick first or pick last. The team that picks first will choose one civ, then the last pick team will choose two civs, the first pick team would then pick two civs and the last pick team who choose their final civ. Each team can ban one civ for the set and can't pick a civ their team had already used. Each player is limited to one castle being up at a time (if a player wants to place a new castle their old one must be destroyed or deleted first). I'm playing with the idea of banning towers but I am not decided one way or the other yet. I'd love to hear your opinions.
