I think these guys are long past the point of multiplayer booms XD

I do wonder what the max pop they're gonna get to. Comet has the crown for now with 151 pop.
Once a max pop kicks in they'll have to try get lower and lower imp times to secure a better spot :D

I'm kinda at a loss though as to hat the internet mass is capable of. What started out as an idea to get a good boom now has become a competitive boom competition that no one would ever do in a real game. 11111
Not sure what rules I should've set to avoid this scenario :D

152 pop - 26:11 imp

Really close to 153, but not quite. 2 seconds short or so. I think always researching imp + hc in the main tc gives you the best timing to finish vils just before 30 mins. Alternatively, it may be better to build one tc with an extra vil and get hc there.

Hi Everyone!

I do not have too much time nowadays for aoc, but always liked to boom theoretically specially :P
Have read this article on tuesday, and right after played 2 games with this settings, reached 147, then 150. Above it a lot of optimisation was needed, yesterday 152 with 5-6 saved games and re-trial, today 153, but nearly reached 155, 2 tc were on 80 and 90%.

Will upload once I go home, or play a new because surely can be more. If does not want to succeed then let the deer luring, etc for someone else.

Counted a bit:

we should arrive at 14:00 (22*25 + 130 feudal + 160 castle)
we have 16 min more

with good positioning/timing the villagers maybe its possible to shorten the approx 40 sec of 1 tc build (with 8-9 villager), and then instead of 35,8 villager creation time 36 can be achieved
it its 35 sec instead of 40, then 36 vill is possible, if under 35, then for sure

counted in villager creation time as unit (1,4 estimating 35 sec for tc build; 3 wheelbarrow, 2,2 handcart, 7,6 imperial research) so 3x(38,4 - 1,4) + 38,4-(3+2,2+7,6) = 111 + 25,6 = 136,6
+25 = 161,6

if we use 1 tc for the partial stuffs, we can summarize the fractions by 30 min, so using 1 tc for researches seemed more optimal reaching this goal.


So this was the 4tc standard stuff. I know that with some civs, 3tc is the best option, for example for mongols with many deers, or even perhaps 2tc, is far better startegy.

Have a different idea more:
Maybe with using more gold/wood instead of farms combined with 3tc, perhaps can lower the feudal time keeping up continuous tc production.

hmm... this game thrilss me!

one other thing... (off topic maybe): towncenter placement.

i watched different records, and, in general i see 2 different styles / strategies where to build your additional TC's.
1 - located next to wood/gold/stone/food supply. This gives the advantage that you don't have to build a mining or lumber camp, giving you 100 wood more to spend on farms(for each TC), which is an advantage in early booming. This style is typically opportunistic towards map situation and leads to a somewhat random or messy town layout, which in the end is not always the best for eco or defense.
A fine example of this style is VIK_Warriors game http://www.aoczone.net/download/file.php?id=120801
I must say if fits with his style because it is all messy from early dark-age on. No offense, my own style is maybe the most disordered of all...

2 - grid-like placement, in the middle of the open field. Ideally with 2 farms spacing in between. Advantage is optimal farm distribution around the TC's, also good defense layout because all your ground is covered by the TC's. The layout is not related to gold and stone mines, or wood, so you need to build mining and lumbercamps. This style is typically more efficient in post IMP, leading to a well organised town layout, often reffered to as the SIM-city approach (by my friends)

I have to say, the way Comet is playing here deserves a price for beauty. If you watch his dark age in fast speed, every thing is like a perfect choreography, the way he lures the boars with scout into his TC, exactly at the right time, placement and timing of houses, everything... Good job!

hmmm
this includes buying food like crazy
i tried normal boom & always run out of food since we can farm much, ending up with 140'ish
since food needs 60 wood investment, may be buying better until rate reaches 160 & by then eco will be stabilized

Hi Everyone!

Today had a bit time for one booming game (during working, just dont tell to my boss :smile: )
Here it is, 158 pop +5x-6x % in 2 TC with 25 pop (theoretically 161 is the maximum)
It still can be optimised, now took care better for deer hunting, but had a bit much wood even with late woodcutters, guess the optimal is if only had all food, after that as much gold as possible + 825 wood.
And let some food in berries. So I think it is possible with 24 pop castle as well (with this 4TC setup), so 164.
