Better to just set it at 50 palas for example.

And there is no legit way of discovering how many pauses are used is there?
you can't see if someone is pausing, but you can se if he does commands while he paused (e.g. droping food, microing lumberjacks, building farms/houses)

and since there is no money or anything involved i think that people would stick to a "no pausing rule" if there would be one
That still will be VERY difficult to keep track of over more than a few minutes.

quick question: i was about to try this, but then i noticed the scenario was set on high resources (starting with 1000w, 800f or smth ridiculous like that). is it meant to be that way, or is this challenge done on normal resources? I would find it quite pointless if it was high resources..

Let's say you do a boom and you have 5000 resource collected at 30:00 minutes. Next game u do the exact same boom but you have 4750 res at 30:00 but 5250 at 30:01. A third time you could have 5250 at 30:00.

It's kinda completely random as one second difference could potentially mean half of your vills dropping off resources or not dropping off. If all can agree that's it's semi accurate and are willing to continue with it then I'm fine with it though ^^
The same count for villager production. If you want to be precise you sum the villagers % being trained in the TC's, and add that to the total. Because you can have 1 vill 95% ready like i did. But that is too complicated. There is a luck factor in every game, like the behaviour of the deer. It is not a problem.

More, if someone is not happy with his own result, you can do this challenge over and over again, and only send the best one you can make. No complains then about that little extra.

If you want it to be about resources, make it a wonder race.

not quite sure what goths have, but arent imp wood and food upgrade required for this ?
"All economy upgrades except 2nd gold/stone researched! (wheel, handcart, wood, farm, 1st gold/stone)"

whats the point of getting carto? anyone has 100g 100f at 30 mins.

in SP you can do everything while pausing ... like when you reach castleage you could press pause, que a vill and buils all 3 extra-tc's and unpause afterwards, so you don't lose a single second while building the tc's

this challenge would be much better if every participant play in the same conditions, i guess the most fair would be play between 2 participants in normal speed to avoid SP pauses which can be very helpful

For instance, i feel it is almost impossible to do vik_warrior's boom (27xx imp and 151 vills) without single player + slow speed

Besides the main target of the contest was kinda deviated because they only research 1st wood up. They are sticking to the rules, but I think thants not what gentle had in mind.. I dont know who would have the best eco by 30 min, gentle with his 130 vils and early and common used upgrades and common times, or the other people with 150 vils and late upgrades. That's worth a debate maybe, as it would hcange somethings..
I think a real booming contest and directly applicable to the game, and to TG as Gentle, you said, would be Aztec booming. How many times you were flank expecting aztec boom but eagles were too late and you were beyond saving?
This could go, MIN 3 TC, faster player to achieve 40 EWW with all upgrades except last attack one(+2 atack +4)
and certain eco upgrades, dunno. Maybe put a higher number of eagles to prevent extremly fast ups with very fragile eco

I think these guys are long past the point of multiplayer booms XD

I do wonder what the max pop they're gonna get to. Comet has the crown for now with 151 pop.
Once a max pop kicks in they'll have to try get lower and lower imp times to secure a better spot :D

I'm kinda at a loss though as to hat the internet mass is capable of. What started out as an idea to get a good boom now has become a competitive boom competition that no one would ever do in a real game. 11111
Not sure what rules I should've set to avoid this scenario :D
