That is actually amazing to hear! It also shows that all the work you guys put into voobly really pays off. There is no negative correlation between games played and introduction of the spectator mode feature. People play when they want to play, watch games when they want to watch them (whether that's live or via RG) and afk when they want to afk. You can't force people to be more active by removing one of those features. It's like saying if we removed recs, the lobby would be more active. I mean, those guys are at their computer sitting and watching AOC right? Surely they can also be playing. It doesn't work that way - sometimes you are half-busy irl and can't play, sometimes you're just not in the mood.
^ I tend to agree with this
While it would be challenging to prove either way, new AoC usage records were set at Voobly on three different days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) last week. It's exciting to see that after eight years since IGZ launched activity is still increasing.
While I definitely agree about uniting the communities, the problem is that HD just has such a poor performance. The pings are higher, more command lag, fps issues even with brandnew hardware, poor lobby system etc... Not to mention other advantages voobly has like spectator mode, auto-rec-upload and so on... Voobly is just better in pretty much every aspect, so I think the better option would be to convince HD players to switch to voobly.P.S. It would be good if more players from HD also played on Voobly (and vice-versa). Uniting the communities: a step towards more glory to the game.
